Any chance we can get info about GA/seated options and what the ticket purchase maximum is for roll call prior to tomorrow at noon?  And are we to purchase tickets thru the "Roll Call VIP"  or the "Tickets" icon next to the show date?  CC?

I so WANT to be a glass half full optimist, not a complainer.   But WHY isn't info like this available to us?    Things like what the seating looks like and whether we can buy 2 or 4 at once make a big difference when planning a show w/ friends.

I agree. Hopefully they provide more info tonight or tomorrow morning a few hours before the sale. Definitely would be great to have this type of info.

Tickets link to buy your tickets.
Roll Call VIP to buy a soundcheck package.

I believe that's how it usually works.

Limit has been 4 in the past.

Wish I could have more exact info but i'm really not involved with Roll Call.

Are people going to look into the travel packages or book their own trips, including hotels?  Just wondering for planning purposes and what to do with the hotel in Rye.

With the Soundcheck option, where we get a poster anyway, not sure if the travel package will be worth.  Obviously, costs will be a deciding factor.

itrainmonkeys

Never done a soundcheck package. They include posters in that? And if so....are the posters the ones from that specific show that are purchased at the merch tents? Or is it a more generic poster?

NorthernNeighbour - I'll almost certainly be booking with you. Can't imagine the packages being much cheaper in terms of hotels. I guess we'll know more tomorrow.

For this tour, the posters given out at the soundchecks have been the same ones sold for the concert.  In the majority of cases, the price of the soundcheck ticket has been roughly $5 or $10 more than the price of the poster.  For example, soundcheck tickets have been $40, and you get a poster.  Posters alone were $30 or $35.  In the case of Red Rocks, however, the Soundcheck ticket was $40 and the poster was $45, so people who went to the Soundcheck got a great deal.

Wow this sounds absolutely amazing. I had planned on getting a poster no matter what anyway so if I buy ahead of time i'll also get a soundcheck as well? haha. So cool. Thanks for the help

I'm interested to see what the travel package costs and what it includes. I, too, can't see it being cheaper since the packages are usually per person.

There's also the issue of soundchecks, so how would transport work, especially if the hotel is in the city, and whether a dinner is still included. The latter is of no concern to me since I don't like eating a big meal before shows.

Any suspicion how much the three-night packages will be for Port Chester? Based on Ticketfly.com, it looks like the GA Floor will be $56 before fees, so maybe in the $175 range after the groundCTRL fees?

Not sure about these shows, but the 3-day Wiltern  package with fees through grnd ctrl was around $115.00

That would be a deal!!  Got my vacation days set, now just a matter of getting tickets.  Going for reserved seats since I'm not good with GA...

Yeah, I'd be curious to see how the soundcheck will work... it's one thing to have to leave MPP after soundcheck and tailgate back in the lot on a gorgeous day....  Will they ask us to leave the Cap until doors?  Might be a bit chilly in the dead of winter!!  Unless of course there is an establishment close by selling delicious libations!

Thanks CC!!

I (we?) forgot about that part of the Forum.  So asking questions here isn't the right place and may not be seen by Ground(Ctrl).  There is a topic about Port Chester with similar questions going on in that link, so hopefully the right people see it and respond.

I wouldn't assume there is a soundcheck option.  There is a "Roll Call VIP" option next to every show in the Roll Call or Events part of the website, but they only offered the option on a few shows.

For instance, right now that icon is clickable for the Greek Theater date but not the other ones.

I think you're right, which is why I probably just stick with the current plan to block rooms as a group.

Is anyone else wondering how to factor this in with a phish lottery win?

No.

You could probably still do most of the Phish MSG run depending on if they do three or four nights. Last year Phish did MSG 12/29- 1/1 if I remember right.

They're probably not doing a 1/1 show this year then. If it was the same as last year you could skip Phish night 1, and have a nice run of shows between the two! Three each. If it's the 28th  - 31st, then you got some decisions to make if you're a Phish Phan too.

wow - has anyone read this NYT story on the reopening of the Cap?

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/06/arts/music/capitol-theater-in-port-chester-ny-to-reopen.html?_r=1&pagewanted=all

my favorite part:

The goal, he said, was to create "a psychedelic rock palace" dedicated to live music, rather than theater.

Don't you ever turn it off

Stevie

I really wish we had more info going into this presale.  But i'll be there, guns blazing at high noon.

Jeff Murray

If someone could post information from Roll Call here for the presale that would be great... I can't access my personal email at work, so I am SOL for that.  Would like to know our options prior to the pre-sale.

Thanks!
