I like it! and congrats to AMC!!!!    I still have the headband you gave me at the first Merriweather show!

CHIMMJFAN

Yeah I'm curious to see how his solo album is going to translate live?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed yet but with Jim changing his site from yimyames.com to jimjames.com and with "Know til Now" officially being by "jim james" rather than "yim yames", like his EP, is Jim officially dropping "Yim"?

He is referring to this album as his debut, so I am assuming this is the case.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

The DARK

Seems like as good a time as any to. RoLaSoG (have fun typing that one out from now on!) feels like a pretty ambitious idea, and it's kinda hard to get it taken seriously when most of the rest of the world doesn't know he goes by Yim.

This song is awesome. Feels like one of those weird, spacey Early Recordings songs cleaned up and filtered through some of Jim's favorite artists.

I hear a ton of Curtis and a ton of Wayne Coyne, especially on the choral echoes. Also there is something uniquely YY about this.

Yea, it'll definitely be interesting to see if and how this gets toured. Maybe he'll play it like Carl's solo album and mix these songs in with the Jacket songs from time to time.

I have been listening to Flaming Lips and Radiohead all day, yet somehow singing Curtis Mayfield in my heart. I think it's a total time warp. The image in my head goes from turntables spinning to a phonograph spinning to Buddhist prayer wheels spinning to the planets spinning...and then all of it zooming in like a satellite from outer space...closer and closer until it zooms into Earth and North America and the region and the state and the town and then your house and crawls through the walls until there you are, eyes closed, and as it zooms in on your face, you open your eyes and smile that you now know what you didn't know just moments ago...and somehow this knowledge will save you from the cycle of rebirth...

Or not...

I think we should refer to this album as "Regions".

Welcome back, The Dark!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

My Sweet Lord Sweatboard made my Millenium.

When I listen to this and think live.  I just picture Jim behind a mixing table with headphones and a mic. Mixing all his samples he has pre-made, Dj JimJames style!
Y'all got any disco ball back there?

You know what they say: older women make good lovers....

Although I will admit that I'm actually more attracted to dads than moms, but mom jokes are always funny.
