Why would you go on a band's forum, brag about how you got early access to their music, then trash it?  Even if you thought it was great, going on the forum and saying you have the music pre-release date is pretty lame, IMO.  You know they read this shit, right?

anybody heard it?

yes.

Where are you guys hearing it all at?
I've only heard Know Til Now, had a kinda luke-warm reaction to it but anxious to hear more.
Also , can someone clue me into the meaning of trolling in various threads?
I know what trolls do in general , I guess, but...?

There was actually a thread up this morning, separate from this thread, by someone (I can't remember the name, but it wasn't familiar) saying that a site had the full album up.  I asked for the name of the site, he responded, and I went there thinking it was some sort of approved streaming.  It actually showed the full album available for download.  At that point, I was just sketched out.  Obviously I didn't try to download it (virus fear aside), as I thought it would just be like an advance stream and plan on buying the album when it is released.

The entire thread was subsequently deleted.  Which I obviously think was the right thing to do.  I actually feel a little bad about responding to initial thread at all.  So anyway, I have no idea whether these people have actually downloaded it and heard it, or are just working some sort of strange game.  For what it's worth, which is zero, the other guy was saying how great it was.  So maybe 'Ray' downloaded/stole it and has heard it, but I have no idea whether that download actually worked or not.

And no, I am not going to say what the name of the site is... :embarrassed:

This is a boatload of effort for a record you hate and a band you think is past their prime.
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

Indeed.  I never go troll the Kings of Leon forum (if they have one...).

The album has indeed leaked (remarkably early), but I ain't listenin' to a peep till I can spin this in high quality! You can really ruin your impression of an album by listening to the first low-quality download available.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

Downloading an album leak and trollin' the boards?

That's a craddlin'.

It's probably NOT TRUE that Ray has gotten ahold of and listened to the new album.

It's all over the internet.

Just as much as the sun,
but your signin on forever

suppose to make a better living
are we better human beings?
we gotta wise our course,
the tubes are all tied.
and I'm strainin to remember,
just what it means to be alive,
a life worth livin'
now you can feel it in your chest,
buildin like little birds,
just buildin up the nest.
and you build it up strong
and you fill it up with love
and you pray for good rain

it aint used for me,
because when the fuse goes out,
I got me,
because the fuse goin out,
I think my powers goin out
I mean it, the powers goin out.
I really mean it, the powers goin out.
Just b/c it's "all over the internet" doesn't mean it's acceptable to go on the forum and a) talk about and especially b) trash it.  But I didn't realize this came from the "are the Jacket's most creative days over" author.  Troll city.  And Yim Yodd, a troll is a person who goes onto various boards with the sole intention of stirring up some major shit, with inflammatory remarks.

Show some respect, would ya?  Save it for after Feb 5, at least on the forum!

Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion. I will choose to wait to hear this in high quality, and just like all MMJ albums, spend some time and form my own opinion.
I know and am anticipating Jim's exploration on his new album, which is something I am looking forward to. Hearing this review does not really hold any weight with me based on previous posts by this person.

Yes, I hope everyone realizes that this poster is the same fool that started the "creative days over" thread.

I don't think we should all be lemmings and love whatever the band does regardless, but someone who just spews negativity we don't need!

By far Jim Jame's worst musical effort.  There are maybe 2 worthwhile songs on this album.  The single and the opening track.

The lyrics are absolutely horrible.  Went in optimistic too.  Unfortunate.

why do i somehow doubt that...

but honestly, if you formed your opinion (which you seem to position as fact) that you think Jacket has passed its most creative days and that JJ's new album is not good, why do you spend time on a forum having dialog about something you don't like?  Unless you just want to spread your negativity.  Spend your time on something that will make you happy.
Don't you ever turn it off

Friends, he keeps coming back because you are feeding him. If he gets too hungry he will go elsewhere.

I've heard the album and while it's not immediately accessible it's very very good.  It didn't hit me until a few listens in.   A spiritual album that sounds exactly like the book looks.  There are a few lyrical themes and certain lines that remind me of MMJ songs.  The overall sound of this album is odd.  If you cram everything from Jim's head onto 9 songs you're going to have some folks who just don't understand it.  That's not to say the album sounds scattered because it's tied together very well.   The "sounds like something lost in time" description Jim gave is dead on.

Ray - Give it some time.

The sound quality of the bootleg isn't the greatest so if you're waiting for your vinyl copy don't give in!  There's a lot of psychedelic stuff going on and you'll want to hear it in warm tones.
