I already got the ALAC HD for Night One. For those of you at the other shows - is it worth paying another $34 for the ALAC-HD's?

For what it's worth, I can in fact tell the difference between the ALAC HD my mp3-encoded version of the same. And it was worth the extra $8 on top of the "free" download from my ticket. I highly suggest you do the same. I just sunk the money because it was (a) $8 more and (b) that night was magical

It depends on how you're listening to it.  The only way you'll hear a difference with HD files is if you have the equipment to play it properly.  If you're going to play it on an iPod or through iTunes with computer speakers, it's probably not worth paying the extra for HD.  If you're going to play them on a high-end stereo that can play 24 bit audio files, then I'd say go for it.

I also have to say that getting 24 bit audio to play is a bit tricky.  Some burn the files to DVD and play them that way.

Even on my shittier speakers (though not laptop speaker) the ALACs have a crisper tone, especially in the percussion. I convert any lossless to MP3 for iPod purposes anyway just to save space; all the higher quality shit is for in home, wire-line use through my actual stereo.

And although my main stereo setup now is dated, it is a 5.1 hifi system with decent speakers that I got via garage sale. I plan on updating bit by bit once my basement renovations are complete.

I'm just wondering if these shows are in fact magical enough to warrant dropping the money for the extra levels.

About 1 GB

Shoot. For a guy whose Ipod's full, that's a bit much. I guess the superior quality's worth it though.

You wouldn't want to put the HQ stuff on your iPod anyway. It'd be like putting jet fuel in a dodge neon. Only get the HQ stuff if you want to (a) play it through a higher-end stereo and actually care about sound quality or (b) just want to have a higher quality recording for archival reasons and you down-convert for daily use. I keep all my music on a 2 TB external drive and only put MP3s on my iPhone and iPod

Can someone explain to me where the code is that you enter to get the Port Chester shows on the tickets? Thank you!
