More interesting musicians are being added to this.  Check out the Double door site folks, cause this is gonna rock for a great cause!!!!

Dear Carl - can you bring some of your "All birds say" tshirts from your album to give away during the raffle?  I know you are bring some signed MMJ posters, but I really dig the shirt and can't order my size on your site.

Most Sincerely,
Patti Meek

Yes please. I second pattilovesmmj's request I would love to buy 2XL "All the Birds say" shirt.
I work right around the corner from the double door, will DEFINITELY be there and would love to buy some merch for a good cause.

P.S. If you wanted to play "All Birds Say" from beginning to end...that'd be cool. No complaints here. I'll be the guy with a "Paul Bunyon" beard shouting CAARLL!!. Quietly waiting between songs.

P.P.S. If you just wanna do "Life Leftover" >"Heaven Knows">"Different People">a 15 MIN "CARIED AWAY!!!">Retired">whatever the hell YOU wanna play...that'd be cool too :) Honestly, Im just stoked ta see ya play in such an intimate setting, for a good cause, in a great little (been around FOREVER) Chicago club. Great music. Super stoked! Can't wait!

Go Team Carl!!!

Look for us there if you want to or we will look for you!   I'll be the older lady with the black rim glasses.  I'm going with other roll callers and one of them works for the brother of the owner.  I'm so excited to see Carl and everyone else that is playing at this show.  It truly is for such a good cause

tippitoes22

8:20, waiting for Carl, then Carl + truth and salvage! Excited to see what happens

First 4 songs were Carl's solo set which he closed with Lollipop.

Carried Away was awesome, especially when they rocked out at the end. Unfortunately I had to switch cameras so there is a gap and a definite quality decrease.  Sorry everyone :embarrassed:
Hopefully you'll still be able to get a sense of the performance.  Enjoy!

Enough is from All Birds Say.  The next three are unfamiliar- Coffee & Wine, God Loves Everyone, and Sleepy Lagoon.  Anyone with insight?
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

God Loves Everyone is a Ron Sexsmith cover. I was unable to figure out the other two songs, perhaps they are original. Here are the last of the videos I have from that evening.

Not sure if this is a T&S Co. song or an Old Pike song or something even earlier.

The only thing I know about "sleepy lagoon" is that is was such an incredible song, with beautiful chords and just kept kind of going on......  Carl was such a joy to see and hear.  LOL especially when his belly button was showing when his shirt was unbuttoned :embarrassed:  Seriously, I don't know about Sleepy but it was beautiful.  He loves the Robert Sexsmith song cause he said so and I've heard him play it twice now.
Lollipop was "for spite" as he put it.  He said "I'm a man in desperate need of a band, but I'm gonna play one more song just for spite".  With a great big smile.

First 4 songs were Carl's solo set which he closed with Lollipop.

Carl (first five songs solo)

"Enough" (Carl Broemel -off his solo album "All Birds Say)
"Coffee and Wine" (?-possible Carl song)
"God Loves everyone" ( Ron Sexsmith cover) Carl: "This is my favorite Ron Sexsmith song"
"Sleepy Lagoon" (? possible Carl song)
"Lollipop" (the Chordettes cover)

Carl w/Truth and Salvage

"Growin' Up" (Springsteen Cover!)
"News" (?)
"Eleanor" (?)
"Heart Like A Wheel" (Truth & Salvage song)
"Landing Gear" (?)
"Islands" (Truth & Salvage)
"Ol' 55" (Tom Waits Cover!)
"Middle Island Creek" (Truth & Salvage)
"See Her" (Truth & Salvage)
"CARRIED AWAY"(Carl- off his solo album "All Birds Say" and a rare treat live w/MMJ)
"Cowboy Song" (Thin Lizzy cover!)
"Hungry Heart" (Springsteen cover!)

GREAT SHOW!!!
Did the best I could here, and I've got the signed setlist :)
The songs that are labeled have been extensively researched by IMeMine and yours truly.
Any help on the question marks would be much appreciated.
Can Anybody Ask Carl ?

P.S.
"Coffee and Wine" is NOT a Jinx Monsoon or Jason Myles Goss cover
"Sleepy Lagoon" is NOT a Platters Cover
"Eleanor" is NOT a Turtles cover

I just wanna go on the record and state that Carl has the best hair of any of the band members right now by far. Hell, maybe even the best hair in Rock N Roll!! Let it grow Carl!
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

Yeah...his hair was longer, but then at Grimey's opening for Jim's solo album, he also had his hair long.
He hung with me and 3 other roll call friends for a short time after his set, and my brother from another mother asked if they were recording.  "Of course" he said.
Me...I was in too much awe to say anything....
