I don't have anything against the encore.  I think it looks fantastic, but I'd rather hear another MMJ song over Right Place, which is one of the lesser tunes on MoF's album (I personally like Magic Marker more than Right Place).  His Master's Voice, Losin' Yo Head, and Dear God are very neat.  Perhaps I'd like to hear another MMJ song simply because I've only seen them perform twice, and I am in dire need of more MMJ.

When Jim first announced Regions of Light, I thought it would sound like Dear God and The Day Is Coming had a baby, so it is interesting to see Dear God show up on the set.

I know that this is opinionated, but WHAT

The Right Place is definitely in my top 3 MoF songs, along with Ahead of the Curve and I can't pick another to say definitely

Right Place and Whole Lotta Losin' are probably somewhere near my bottom 2 on that album.  I enjoy the tunes with a little less country twang more.

Ahead of the Curve, Temazcal, Sandman, Losin' Yo Head, His Master's voice, etc.
I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

Jim James Jams Out The End Of Losin' Yo Head

Jim James - Losin' Yo Head (ending jam) - The Brown Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky on 4/17/2013

I was leaning on the stage from the front row and couldn't pass up the opportunity to record Jim jamming out right over me. The sound isn't terrible, but it isn't the best either. I still think it's pretty cool.

Thanks Mr. White!

I'm still blown away at how great a show this was.
First the amazing live version of the album.
Then JJ's beautiful solo acoustic MMJ numbers.
And then a flashback to the great MOF live shows of a few years ago.

You guys on deck are in for a real treat if the other shows are anywhere close to this one.
Enjoy!!!

I'll be on hold until the last show at Newport

Thank you!!!! I heard myself start laughing when she stopped herself the last time.

Awesome review. Great read

Agreed!  What a great review!  Awesome to hear how well the album translates live!  But then again, this was to be expected when we're talking about Jim James right?

LeanneP

I'm going to share that vid with my kids who love both of those songs.

I've got butterflies now thinking about the Toronto show coming up!

Squee!
Babe, let's get one thing clear, there's much more stardust when you're near.

Nice find and I notice that he's putting it on etree. He did a really good job of getting the guy in front of him's head in the whole video.

WOW I couldn't be happier with that encore.   I hope he doesn't change it up at all.   I saw someone else wish it was a bit more MMJ-ish, but I'd much prefer the listed songs to hearing Wordless Chorus and Touch Me II again and again.    If that's the encore in Boston I'll be thrilled.

It was a perfect encore. I liked hearing these songs with this band way better than I liked hearing them play Jacket songs without Jacket. Also, how often do you get to hear all of these MOF songs?  The whole show was great!  Funniest moment was when the girl down from us started singing badly and loudly Carl's pedal steel part on Wonderful. So great seeing everyone!

The audio on this video is a little better. I think you can pick out the "funniest moment".

Jim James - Bermuda Highway and Wonderful - The Brown Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky on 4/17/2013

I was smiling the entire time I watched this video.  Wonderful was amazing!

That was just a Louisville thing Squallis Puppeteers- Jim has a relationship with them. I'm not trying to imply it's sexual, but anything's possible...puppet sex.
