I keep trying to convince myself I don't actually dislike Dwight Howard, but sweet baby Jordan, he's making that really hard...

QuoteGregg Popovich drew up a play according to my sources for Dwight Howard in the game. Except, when it was time to run the play, Dwight Howard was not in the game, wasn't paying attention, was on the bench in his warmups chillin out socializing with folks, and Gregg Popovich almost went ballistic and basically was cussing at him according to numerous people that I spoke to

It's also hard to dislike Kevin Durant, even when he's kicking the Spurs' asses...

Quote"As players we all respect Pop around the league. We know what he stands for. We know what he's done. It was a pleasure playing for him. And I had a lot of fun," Durant added.

Im actually intrigued with the trade talk, although Garnett seems like the only name really being thrown around.

I was glad to see him go to the Celtics and win 1 there, but he isnt winning anything there from here on out, certainly not this year without Rondo. Id personally like to see him go to Lob City or some other teams with a better chance for the next couple years.

i dont think kg would waive his no trade clause, id like to see smith to the celtics but they want paul pierce...i just dont want to see those three guys break up man...

FiddleCastro

looks like nothing really happened... A few bench warmers for picks, the Thomas Robinson trade to Houston may have been the biggest trade.

Heat will repeat this year. Im thinking a rematch with the Thunder or maybe...maybe a matchup with the Spurs.

As for the whole Lebron and Cleveland thing, he can do what he wants. He carried that entire team basically by himself for all of those years and requested he get some help by bringing other players in. The organization never delivered that to him so he walked out. The Lakers always brought in big time help for Kobe, but Cleveland wouldn't do it for Lebron. So what he hosted a tv special, there's much worse things that other athletes have done. I've been a fan since my freshman/sophmore year of high school when he played for St. Vincent St. Mary's.

Comparing Lakers and Cavs is literally apples and oranges in a sport sense

The Cavs tried to surround LeBron with the players to help LeBron win a ring.  They just never panned out.  Dan Gilbert was never afraid to spend when it came to getting help for LeBron.

I still say if the Cavs wouldn't have fucked up the whole Carlos Boozer deal, LeBron would probably still be in Cleveland with multiple rings.  Too bad Dan Gilbert wasn't the owner then or we probably would not have lost Boozer...

And scotty's right, you can't really compare the Lakers to the Cavs.

I will say, after watching the Cavs nearly knock off the Heat in Miami last night and seeing the Cavs' young guns Irvin and Waiters go off, I am encouraged about the future with or without LeBron.

Miami's win streak just keeps on rolling! I think we all know who's going to be representing the east in the finals this year

Lebron James for his 4th MVP ? Any disagreements on this??

Going to the first ever Brooklyn Nets playoff game tomorrow night

Went to the first ever pre-season and regular season games as well, figured why not.

Still cheering for the Spurs overall, though

Nice one Fiddle!

The Nets played a great game, and I hope it continues. Sweet to see a Nets playoff game back in NY after all these years. I was at the last one.

Spurs are regular season heroes.  I like Memphis to take em out in the west semis if standings hold and OKC will be playing the heat again.
Well the standings didn't hold but I like Memphis even more to represent the West in the finals.  It's a shame they blew game 1 in OKC but Durant was unbelievable.  It seems that Ibaka will be a tough matchup for Randolph all series.  He really struggled to score one on one against him.

A point on Rudy Gay.  At the time of the trade to the Raptors, Gay was one of the worst in the NBA in offensive efficiency.  The Grizzlies knew what they were doing, particularly when you consider the money Gay earns and wanted in the future.  The Grizz' offensive efficiency has increased since his departure.

I think the Grizzlies have a shot to win it all.  However, they have to get through the Spurs to do it.  I actually think the Grizzlies have a better chance against Miami than San Antonio.

Also, i'm intrigued at the Nets yet again, letting Carlesimo go.  Wonder what's next.

I think it looks like the Spurs might just have their hands full with Golden State.  Although the Warriors need to figure out a way to finish games?!  They almost pulled off an epic choke job at home in their series ending win over Denver.  And last night they actually pulled it off blowing a 16 point lead in 4 freaking minutes!  How is that even possible???

And how about the Bulls!!!  How is this Mash unit of a basketball team doing this?  And the better question is, how can Derek Rose even show himself on the bench when he sees all of his teammates gutting out performances while they battle their own injuries???  I mean, Nate Robinson gets his head rolled over by LeBron, goes to the locker room and gets 11 stitches in his lip and gets back on the court to key the Bulls win last night!  Yet there is Rose, who has been cleared by doctors to play for over a month, sitting on the bench in his fancy suit???  I just wonder when or if he will try to come back?  At this point, I hope Rose just stays out and who knows, maybe his teammates have already told him as much.  They've gotten this far without him and if I were his teammate, I'd tell him we don't need him now!

What I would love to see happen is for the Bulls to make an improbable run to win the NBA title and then tell Rose to suck it and not give him a ring!

BTW, heard this stat on the radio this morning.  Since the Super Bowl, the Heat have only lost 3 games (including last night's loss).  One was to the Knicks where the Heat were playing without James and Wade.  The other 2 were to Chicago!  Oh, and that was also only the 3rd home loss for Miami this year.  Chicago is also responsible for 2 of Miami's 3 home losses this season!  So, this Bulls team seems to have a formula for what it takes to beat the Heat...
