:cheesy: one win away!

I guess it's Timmy's turn to have a monster game.

Spurs let one get away. Not so bad (for me) as I have always loved Ray Allen. Timmy will have to have monster game #2; hope it's another good one!

a classic.

A game 7 - best thing in sports.

I don't get all the "controversy" about Heat fans leaving early in Game 6. It's their ticket, they can sit there with a blindfold on or not even come to the game or have a solo thumb wrestling match; it's THEIR choice. Since when did loyalty to a team or town mean anything? Maybe they just wanted to take their talents home and go to bed or take their talents to the club. So be it. Bosh is telling those fans to "stay home" for Game 7. Well Bosh, how do you think the Toronto fans feel when you left them? So tired of all this multi-millionaire, prima donna crap. Just play ball man; you're talented, you're young, you're rich, what else do you want?

You called it. He was unbelievable last night.

Good game. I thought Lebron had about sealed it with a great 4th Q but then it felt like Parker was going to get the Spurs the trophy with a crazy clutch late comeback.

Probably a little hyperbole, but Lebron owes Ray Allen huge, like buy him a car huge. If Miami loses that game - and without that 3 they wouldve - Lebron's legacy to a degree takes a palpable hit, and certainly all the talk during the offseason is what does Miami have to do to win another championship after needing 7 games to get to the finals and only winning 2 games once there. If they win tomorrow, Ray Allen's shot goes down as one of the biggest in Finals history. If they lose game 7, if wont be remembered as much, and well have the same questions this offseason about the Heat and Lebron, although likely not as often had they lost last night.
The thing is, Bob, it's not that I'm lazy, it's that I just don't care. - Peter Gibbons

If the Heat win, LeBron should buy the entire team and coaching staff a Maserati.

Go home Tim Duncan, you're drunk. I love seeing Lebron outplay Popovich's coaching . I'll just leave this here......

Yep, the heat totally dominated the spurs the whole series

What a great game and what a performance from Lebron in two elimination games:

avg: 34.5 pts, 11 rebs, 7.5 asts, 2.5 steals (+ tremendous d on Parker)

he also showed tremendous respect for the Spurs, a very gracious winner (an area where he's already better than MJ).

what more can you ask for at this point?

come on man, you got to show the Spurs a little love.  Like Lebron said, they pushed them to the brink.  The best want to play the best and that's what we saw in this series.

I'll just post what I posted on Facebook/Tumblr here

Sad the Spurs did not win last night, but I have to say I am proud of them. Made it all the way to the finals with a team people wrote off as old, thought they would lose to Memphis, etc... There's no shame in losing to one of the all-time greatest teams (seriously, how many games did they win in a row!?) with one of the all-time greatest players in a hard fought 7 game finals that ended with two epic games. Not sure if this is a "We'll get 'em next year" deal, because of all the question marks for next year, but I trust our management, and with all the young talent (Leonard, etc.) We'll get 'em soon enough ;) Congrats to the Miami Heat and their fans, and Lebron James. Enjoy it, we'll be back to spoil the party soon

Ok ok I'll keep it honest. Spurs played Miami tougher than any possible team could have. I couldn't imagine a team playing harder than they did. If they had to face any other team, it'd be a Spurs victory. Also, without Lebron, it'd easily be San Antonio 4-0. They did a great job in pushing Miami to their limits.

He's 1/3rd of the way there, and minus a couple of 50/50 loose balls and a missed free throw, 1/6th.

Good fortune plays a role in every championship.  He may never be considered better than Jordan (just like some will still say Russell is better than Jordan 11>6) but to deny his greatness and the place he's already secured in the history of the game is what some call intellectual dishonesty. I call it trolling

Intellectual dishonesty? You're high! Show me where I said he wasn't great. He was being hyped as, and acting if he was, the best ever before he ever won anything. 2 Titles (1 very iffy) and some say he is best ever; I say absolutely no way. Troll on that

One thing I find fascinating is how Lebron is re-branding as a rags to riches story. This is the first time I can remember him talking about "I shouldn't even be here", the whole "Akron inner city kid" card. His handlers are pretty smart, getting him out of that villain role and appealing to people's hearts. I heard him talk about it a couple of times last week and it caught my attention b/c it was so scripted; like I might be watching the same interview (but it wasn't). I want to believe it's from his heart, but I don't. It's too calculated. Sort of like when he addressed his "haters" when he spoke after game 7. Like what they say doesn't bother him? Right. You just reached the pinnacle of your profession for the 2nd year in a row and you address the haters? That's humility... I equate it to some dude getting married after having his first wife divorce him and then talking about how much he is over his first wife during the ring ceremony. He's acting, which is the same as flopping, and I find it fascinating.

I guess I am getting old. I am so far removed from this coming from someone who is considered the greatest playing the game today, and maybe one of the greatest ever. On one hand, "I am blessed to be here" on the other hand:

LeBron Instagram Video

Why would anyone hate him?

Funny to think about MJ, Kobe, Magic, Bird, Duncan, or Russell doing that.

parkervb

Have you ever watched Michael Jordan's HoF speech?  He addresses every hater he ever felt he had, real or perceived.  It was pure Mike and I don't mean that in a positive way.

The fact you have to nitpick the things Lebron says, tweets or Instagrams is a testament to his greatness as a player.
