Well if MMJ and Wilco are playing literally 5 minutes from where I live, I may be out for Newport. Shit what do I do?

Not going to tell you to go to one or the other.....both will be awesome times. But if you are thinking about skipping the NFF and already have a ticket(s) and need someone to take it/them off your hands please let me know. I waited too long and now I have to scramble to find Newport tickets for this summer.  Good luck in your decisions...I know this will be a tough one

Speculate all you want EC, most people on here just complain or talk shit about Band of Horses so keep it coming!

Why did you have to bring Band of Horses into this?

But seriously, EC, seeing as how this is a "public" forum, say whatever the hell you want. Speculation is cool with me and adds to the discussion. Sure, it may have gotten over the top at one point or another, but that is no reason for folks to be rude to you. Nor is that any reason for people to say what you can/can't post.

We're all here for the same reason, we are fans of the greatest band on the planet! No one should be pushed away or called out for their enthusiasm. If anything, it should be encouraged. No one person "owns" this (well MMJ/groundcontrol I guess) forum, it is all of ours. This isn't Nazi Germany or North Korea here, it's a fricking online forum, geeze, people need to lighten up.

That is all!

PS - Clearly I need coffee, or more beer.
Mona Lisa must'a had the highway blues, you can tell by the way she smiles.

I've seen The Good, The Bad and The Ugly Dylan. Unfortunately, he's been nearly unintelligible in concert for the past 5 years or so. On his second-last tour, I didn't recognize many of his best-known songs. His band is excellent, but Bob seems not to even want to sing along with a given song's backing melody. Still, this is an excellent quadruple-bill, even with a subpar Dylan.

Ok so the Newport folk Festival will throw a monkey wrench into this as I won't be able to make the NJ and Jones Beach shows that are close by.

As of now, I am planning on getting tix to the July 19th show in Bridgeport CT and the July 23rd show at Merriweather Post.  MPP is always a fun time.

Party at the 3 star Bridgeport Holiday Inn!   1/2 mile from the ballpark, and a decent rate for a room with a cancellation option. Even better rate for a prepaid room.

Hope to see you there.

So let it be written, so let it be done.

fine. it'll be done. and we'll be celebrating my bday there or at the Saratoga show. shots on you two..
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

Wow I haven't been to the forum in a while... this thread is crazy and cracking me up! Ohhhh the choices, Penny that is ironic that you will be Newport while the boys are mere blocks from your home. I have to say a bit of me hopes JJ takes his vitamins, thats a tough sched. Will Newport be compromised with all of these dates? It does seem like the teleporter needs to come out to make it all happen. No talk from fellow Westcoasters on our dates...  Irvine amp is not a venue I frequent but alas I will and a strong finish at Shoreline! (my bedroom is shoreline blue- tribute to Jerry!). Anyone going to the Colorado show, it's on my birthday and thoughts are a buzzing... So many shows so little time, so much to put on the dime for such a good time...

I thought I read that these shows will start at 4pm? That would help with the set times...

I was pretty excited to see Denver on the list, and then immediately deflated to see Fiddler's Green as the venue...that place SUCKS. At least it did last time I was there, which was about 20 years ago. Maybe it's better now, anybody have better intel? I'll still be going, of course.

no it still SUCKS.  strict curfew at 10 = 1 hour sets i'm guessing.  pass.

how can this NOT be at Red Rocks?  disappointing to say the least.

GAH! I had assumed Red Rocks was booked for that night, but now that I go look at their calendar, it's free on July 31! WHAT IN THE HELL. Maybe some unannounced show will be there that night, otherwise it makes no sense.

Maybe it costs more to book RR and Bob wants to cut costs. Some of these venues baffle me. Riverfront Park doesn't regularly hold shows anymore although I know Jacket has played there before quite spectacularly.

I agree. How they could choose anyplace over RR is beyond me.

Only thing I can  think of is economics. Probably a helluva lot cheaper to book at Fiddler's than RR, and seats more too.

For anyone who wondered about roll call presale, this is straight from MMJ's site:

*please use the unique code that was emailed to you for the Roll Call Presale (email with code to go out to Roll Call members the evening before the presale begins)*

MMJ will not be at the Jones Beach show, so i'll be seeing some of you at Newport afterall :)

Sucks i'm going to miss this whole tour, though.

I do hope they come back and play Jones Beach, just because it's a cool venue, even if it's in the middle of nowhere.
I NEEDED IT MOST WHENEVER tbh
