Hello all, my name is Jake and I'm from DE. I've seen MMJ 8 times since 2006 and was so looking forward to this show. Left my house around 3:30 with my girlfriend who had never seen any of these bands before. It was raining pretty good but didn't have too much of a problem until we got to within a MILE of the exit for the venue and just hit a wall of immovable traffic on I-295/I76. We were stuck there for hours, but eventually made it out. Tried to get to the show via back roads but they were all full of traffic or blocked off. I am so bummed out that I missed what was apparently an amazing show. Anybody else have the same issue? If so, is there anything we can do to possibly get a refund? Did the bands make note of lack of people at the show? I'm hoping a make-up show is possible but I doubt it. I just can't believe our terrible luck. Amazing setlists from MMJ and Wilco, at least I've seen them both before, but my gf didn't, I feel bad for her.

heard it could have been backed up due to flooding in camden but not sure exactly...

Engine of Dondante

Oh yeah, it was definitely flash floods that were the cause. It just really sucks it had to be yesterday of all days man! Im bummed because I won't be able to get a refund and they still played the show, so no make-up show either. Just pretty unbelievable, considering those 3 artists were some of my all-time favs.

getting in was hell. yesterday was a record rainfall in Philly/Camden, not just for the date but most rain on any one single day EVER. major flooding, 8" of rain! that area is known to flood but this was truly epic.

I bet it was! How did you get in? We took I-295 North and that was impossible to make progress. I am insanely frustrated with all of this, I know I can't be the only one who missed the show or at least a good portion of it. Nobody else missed out?

I had two separate friends that missed all of Jacket's set due to this mess. I would've flipped my lid if it was me! Sorry you and your girl had to go through this but I highly doubt you'll get a refund.

Sorry to hear what happened to you, but yeah, that was some serious rain Camden got hit with.

We got there early, ahead of the rain. Hit the lot before 2, and the show ended up being a lot more crowded than I thought. I don't know if the crowd was already in town for the XPN fest, and strolled over, or made it there in spite of the rain, but the whole pav  looked to be full, and some hearty souls on the lawn too. Not many, but they were out there. We were some of the first to hit lot 2, and it wasn't too crowded when we went inside, but people were arriving then about 4:00-4:30. By the time I left about a 1/2 hour into Dylan's set, lot 2 was pretty damn full, so some made it through that mess.  when leaving, Cops were directing cars around closed, flooded streets, and I was glad I left when I did, ahead of most of the crowd.

That sucks.  I was freaking out as we sat in nonstop accidents, etc.

we came from Delaware too around the same time -- we took the Walt Whitman and made it to 676 north.  Of the 3 ways we could have gone, I believe this was the only way that could have even got us there at all.

Missed Ryan Bingham, but caught all of MMJ plus the rest of the show.  It really filled up nicely from there.

Jim did give a shout out to those brave souls on the lawn.  What a guy.

That sucks for you, it was a great show wish you could of made it.  I do know that as we were leaving as Wilco had started up we heard one wasted guy mention he had just came for MMJ and was pissed as he was just getting there.

As we took 295 south it was crazy how backed up traffic was for like 20 miles or so on the North bound side.  Not to rub it in, but yesterday was the only time I have ever went from DC to Philly and never hit any traffice the entire time.  But then again we got up to Camden prior to 1 and were just caught tailgating when the downpour started.

Thanks for the responses guys. Fleabag, what part of DE did you come from? I usually always take 95 to get to Philly, but take I295 for Camden shows cuz it's a little quicker. Kicking myself a little bit for not going 95, but I can't get mad at myself, I left plenty early and took a logical route. It just sucks!

What do all of you guys think was the best song by the Jacket for the night? Killer set from them, Dondante is always special live (was it the 15 min extended version w the metal breakdown in it?) plus a couple great cover tunes and Masterplan, which I haven't seen live yet. Like are you serious? I shoulda beared witness to that awesomeness, so lame!

What were the best songs for Wilco and Bob for show as well? Wilco's set was amazing looking too, live premiere of Solitaire, Poor Places, Via Chicago, Late Greats AND Dreamer in My Dreams! Kill me now!

That's a serious bummer, Engine. I don't recall ever experiencing rain that severe. Sorry to hear you didn't make it.

Getting to see Oh Sweet Nuthin was the highlight for me as its one of my favorite songs of all time. Wilco's entire set was incredible and one of the best I've seen by them in a while. Sorry, not trying to rub it in here but it's true. Hopefully next time you see any of these guys it turns out being a show you never forget.
