There are definitely some songs that must be played during OBH in Mexico. One of which is Friends Again. I don't believe they have played this song since T5. By my count only three times I can remember ( T5, and two shows April 2010, Nashville was one of those shows). I flew down from NJ and was happy to have two new songs which would be on their next album, Wonderful and Friends Again. Wonderful made it on but Friends Again fell by the wayside as it was a "muppet song". It is time this song received its due credit. I love Circuital the but I believe Friends Again is better than every song on it.

Friends again rant aside. What are the chances folks making the trip can have an influence on the setlists? I assume 30-35 song sets aren't out of the question. Thoughts?

MMJCOBRA

I totally fucking approve this message

I mean, it has to be no repeats right?

I've got my fingers crossed for some sit ins as well. For one, it's not stretch to have Bob Weir hang out for a couple days after Paradise Waits. And then considering there has been discussions on this board about concerns of sales for OBH, would it surprise anyone if they added Preservation Hall. And then pondering the fact how much John Oates likes MMJ, I wouldn't be surprised if just went ahead and booked himself a room.

I am 100% behind any motion to get Friends Again back in the setlist rotation. I'm sure the band has their reasons for not playing it (none of which we seem to know), but it's a crime that it's been absent for so long. In fact, I had a good chat with people at Boston NYE that were equally disappointed that it was not played during the PC run, and we had our fingers seriously crossed that it'd make an appearance that evening. It did not. Bring it back boys!

APR

No one knows what will be played what night, but you're guaranteed to hear the majority of those.

They definitely played Friends Again a few times in 2010.  I heard it in St. Augustine, and it was pretty great.  That would be super nice to hear.  Of all my shows I have yet to hear Just One Thing or Rolling Back.  I would vote for those two.  And for a cover song, I think Rock the Casbah is amazing.

Would love for them to play Miss You into Cobra as they did during their 5-night NYC run. Really, I think there's a lot on the table. Hope to hear IWSYS, Where to Begin and one I'd like to see (could be wishing here) is Sec Walkin. Really dig that tune.

Given the ridiculous amount of devotion held or the band by those of us fortunate to be heading down to Mexico, reviving the Spontaneous Curation concept could prove epic.
