I wonder why we listen to poets when nobody gives a fuck

EverythingChanges

Forecastle's FB page:

"Surprise! We've been enjoying the takeovers so much, we've got another ‪#‎ForecastleTakeover‬ in store for you today! Stay tuned to our ‪#‎Instagram‬ starting at 11am EST!"

Let's hope it isn't an acoustic folk act this time!  I want to see some variety!

Or something at least worth paying to see...

EverythingChanges

Well it doesn't look like a folk band... Any ideas?

It kind of looks like Kurt Vile, but he was just there, so I doubt it.

It's a band I'm unfamiliar with, The Weeks. We also know Lucius and Drew Holcomb.

And Trampled by Turtles, Outkast, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Jason Isbell are pretty much guaranteed as well.

Nothing overly exciting for me yet.  TbT is kind of cool though.  I've listened to The Weeks on Spotify, they have some catchy tunes.  I feel like they are hiding something.  We knew multiple headlining acts last year before the lineup dropped.  We only know one this time.

These clues are getting shittier and shittier.  There has not been 1 act hinted that I am even in the least bit excited to see.  I'm probably going to sell my 3 day pass unless there's something huge hinted in the next few weeks.

I came here to post the exact same thing.  I'm glad I didn't get an early pass.  These hints are awful, and I have tried listening to everything they've hinted at.  It truly is a shame, because this festival has been the best summer experience of the last two years for me.

Maybe the headliners will make up for the lack of a good lineup.  Only time will tell.

I'm still optimistic and will gladly take anyone's early bird 3 - day pass if you decide not to go.

2 of the headliners are Beck and Outkast. They don't have a 3rd yet. I'm assuming that's why there's no word on the line up announcement.
don't rock bottom, just listen just slow down...

Oh, and a Rumor around town is Modest Mouse. I don't buy it, but I'd take it. There are several bands that are hinted at on FB that are okay. Full list of hints/true rumors :

Outkast
Beck
Mount Moriah
Jason Isbell
Trampled by Turtles
Hurray for the Riff Raff
Sun Kil Moon
The Weeks
Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors
Dwight Yoakham
Young and Sick
St. Lucia
Avey Tare's Slasher Flicks
Lucius
Spoon
Nickel Creek
Black Lips
Jenny Lewis

For only being about 1/5 of the full line up, I'll take that.

Where was the Beck hint?  I must of missed it.  I still don't really dig any of the headliners.  Beck would be fun to see, but if the lineup doesn't drastically improve, it won't be worth it to me.

MrWhippy

Lineup on March 4.

I hate this trend of festivals announcing their lineup announcement.  A few years down the line they will have to start announcing their announcement of their lineup announcement just to keep up excitement.

I much prefer the Coachella approach of randomly throwing out the lineup whenever they feel ready.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

There was no Beck hint, but Beck is a headliner.

I feel the same way. Also the Foreskin Facebook page was promoting Nickel Creek today. I'd love to see them. While I'm loving Beck's new album, I can only imagine a show heavily promoting it as an afternoon show. It's soooooo mellow.

Does anyone remember how much weekend passes were in past years?

Last year presale was $100 flat.  Then it went $125, $145, $165...  Year before I paid $140.

johnnYYac

I'm thinking $150. Early birds went for $120. We'll soon see. Lineup March 4, tix March 7.
