I wonder if Jim was one of the artists to come in with every lyric written to song.  I would love to hear all the missing tracks.  Does anyone know of any plans to release the tracks that didn't make the LP?

Me neither. I was very surprised when that popped up on dime this morning.

I had no idea either.   I had even gone to their website to look for a "live" or "tour" link.   I wonder if this show was a surprise or advertised.

buymycar, I can't get that download to work. Is there any reason you can think of? Is it because there are no "peers" on line to make it available? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to getting stuff off of Dimeadozen.

Thanks for any help on this,
John

Hmmm, there are plenty of seeds (135 as I write this), so the number of "peers" isn't the problem. What torrent client are you using? I use μTorrent, and I have to forward my port through my router to be connectable. Usually with that many seeds, however, you still should be able to download even if you don't forward your port. It will be slower if you're not connectable to everyone, though.

I hadn't downloaded anything from dimeadozen in months. I had my computer re-imaged a while back and didn't have a way to open the torrent, so I had to download uTorrent again. When it didn't let me download the New Basement Tapes show, I tried BitTorrent. It didn't work either. Right now, it says "Finding Peers 0.0%"...OK! Good news! I just switched back to uTorrent, and it looks like it is just now downloading the show! Thanks for the advice, buymycar! Hopefully, it will work this time. ... No, it is now showing the same thing - "Finding Peers 0.0%" I don't understand it.
(One odd thing about it all, I was able to download the new Thom Yorke download of Tomorrow's Modern Boxes without any trouble.)
I'll try again later.

John,

If you still have problems with the download let me know and I'll send you a copy.

I can't get torrent to run either.   I'll keep trying over the next couple days but I may need upload help!!!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

Needed to split the download into 2 parts to get around sendspace's file size limit, but here is The New Basement Tapes live in Los Angeles in FLAC.

Make sure you click on the link that says (there are a few "download" buttons, but most are ads):

PROGRAMMING REMINDER: tomorrow, 11/21, at 9 ET the making of the album, "Lost Songs: the Basement Tapes Continued" airs on showtime

Almost a full two hour run time on this puppy.

After watching the documentary, I can't help but feel that this project was misnamed, as (1) it wasn't recorded in a basement, (2) the artists had never worked together before like Dylan and The Band had, and (3) the pressure the artists were feeling because they knew it was going to get released, as Rhiannon Giddens said.

Was it just a project to bring attention to the original Basement Tapes? Seems like it.

I really enjoyed the doc. I think my favorite song is Nothing to It. I can't quit listening to it.

The most "Jackish" song on the album

I think that "Nothing to it" has a good chance to become part of MMJ´s setlist or at least being played at OBH II.

I really dig Down on the Bottom. Love the way it builds into a jam.  good stuff. except Costello he can suck it.
Can you keep it simple? Can you let the snare crack? Can you let it move without holding back?
