Bobby Womack died yesterday at the age of 70.

"Across 110th Street" was one of his biggest hits, and it really sets the mood for one of Quentin Tarantino's more underrated films. It always gives me the chills.

I have been a huge Todd Rundgren fan since around 1985, and have seen him in concert 2 times. The first time was at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles in 1989. Bobby Womack had sung on "For The Want Of A Nail" on Todd's album Nearly Human and came on stage during that show in L.A. to perform it with Todd. It was a special treat to see him live. Here's a recording session of that very song (The sound is a bit low on this one but well worth listening to. Also, some of you Grateful Dead fans may recognize Vince Welnick on piano. He was with the Grateful Dead in the early 1990's after Brent died. He was in the Tubes before that, who Todd had produced for).
