GREAT NEWS!  Hoping for a speedy recovery for you now!

What a whirlwind. A year ago, I was near death. Today, it's 48 hours since I left the OR, 24 hours since I left the cardiac ICU, and I am free of all tubes and IVs, and have walked almost 2000 feet. Oh, and my new best friend is Percocet. Thanks for all the kind thoughts, well wishes, prayers, and positive vibes. Hope to be home within a week.

Fantastic!!

This is some great news John, and what we've all been hoping and praying for. I'm glad everything went well, you're up and about and psyched to hear you'll be home soon.

Ahh yes, the Yac ET photo!   If that's the one you mean it was from the Mann in Philly, and pretty sure it was Carl and Yac.

I don't have it but was there to see it in person and was with Janecool when she took it. A classic photo indeed!    I'm sure someone here has it, and John definitely does.

Thinking of you Yac and will raise a glass to you tomorrow in Vegas pre-show.

I had no idea you had to go back under the knife. Glad everything went well.

Alright, I'm back and ready to retire this thread... again!  Having a hell of a time typing (Percocet, perhaps?).  I've updated the setlist and poster threads, with a few gaps.

HUGE props to BH for covering for me for the past week or so.  Love ya, Dave!

So, we need a better image and the name of the artist for the Missoula poster.

Also, is there a soundcheck setlist from Vegas night 2?

Nice be be "among the living again!"

Thanks for all the support!

Here you go. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Thanks, guys.  I'll also share my post from Facebook today.

One year ago today...

I don't think I'd be here without the love and support of AMAZING friends and family. This was the end of day one - 17 hours in surgery, ECMO life support, chest to remain open 10 days, 204 units of blood transfused, 40 days at UI Hospital, 9 days of rehab...

Feel free to comment, but- if you can- PLEASE GIVE BLOOD. My heart beats for you.

Love these guys!

So cool johnnYYac. I think that's all anyone needs to know about this band. You deserve it to for all you been thru and all you do for this fan base. Thanks for being you!

Thanks, rkwedge!  Mighty nice of you.  Its more than the music when you fall in love with My Morning Jacket.

What a great get well card and thoughtful gesture from the band (again).  I hope they never have to send you one of these again..... maybe a birthday card in good health would be sufficient next year.

Keep getting better and getting ready for the next tour.

Great to hear that you're on the mend, John.

For those of you who followed my ordeal, you know that I am here today in large part due to the generosity of over 200 strangers who donated blood.  I received well over 200 units of blood transfused during my surgery, life support, and ICU stay in Oct-Nov 2014.

Ironically, I can no longer give blood, due to the surgeries, transfusions, and anti-coagulant medications I must now take for the rest of my life.  So, I need your help...

PLEASE give blood, if you can.  Take a moment to roll up your sleeve and restore your community's blood supply.  I was a donor for many years and eventually dipped deep into the supply.  Someday, you or someone you love may need the same.

Find a blood drive near you.

Thanks.
