Hey guys, I'm headed down to Cancun for OBH and am super excited to say the least!!!! I'm getting down to Cancun 1 day before and plan on staying 3 days after. Since I'm not staying at the Hard Rock for the days after. I've decided to stay in Tulum for a few days, does anybody have any suggestions on where to stay? or where NOT to stay? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there,

Never been there, but been doing a ton of research, were staying at the first link for 3 days after.

This was a close 2nd

Biggest thing we discovered is just plan on it being different (in a good way). Its "off the grid", so electricity is a premium and things like air conditioning become hard to find. I strongly suggest Trip Advisor and I am sure based on past comments here you'll get some good input from others on the forum that went last year.

Good luck and see ya there....

We're staying at the OM resort in Tulum. We stayed there after OBH1 and loved it. But as Bulldog pointed out things like electricity is a premium. The OM does not have electricity after like 9 or 10pm and then comes back on early in the morning. We actually apprciate the rusticness of these resorts and embrace the lack of overstimulation after the time spent at the Hard Rock. Nice way to unwind and chill out.

I have mentioned it before, but it was worth saying again, it was that good. Definitely try to eat at the Hartwood in Tulum. Wonderful setting in the jungle with open fire cooking and fresh ingredients. All the drinks were amazing too. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. Cash only, no reservations, the line starts forming about a half an hour before they open.

I have friends who work in and around Tulum. They also highly recommended Casa Jaguar and El Tobano, but we never made it there

No problem. Hope you get to one or all. I'm super jealous though, OBH just did not work out for us this year.

I'd be surprised if this is the last. I'm friends with the talent manager/recruiter for Cloud9. She was even looking for a room the other day for a friend. That says a lot for the demand if she can't get her friend a room.
