Spring wasn't actually played twice, was it?

No, it wasnt. Dropped the ball there, sorry guys. The dangers of beering and set listing are very real.
You need it.  That's for sure.

Goldeneagle

Willie Nelson tune
Didn't see that one coming

Great show
They sounded amazing and that post-steam engine jam was completely out of left field.

So good

MOWJO8185

Were the steam engine jam and the jam between IWSYS and The Waterfall in Athens the same?

Definitely not sweating the lack of OBH. Probably guaranteed for the Hang Out Feat tonight doe.

Looks good. I m certainly on the no need for OBH every night team, but it is so good live

So is hangout fest about to get a monster Dondante?

ElHombreLobo

I've read speculation on these boards, specifically after the KCRW stream, that the band wasn't entirely comfortable playing the new songs live yet, or at least they hadn't gotten their legs under them fully.  Um, they got this I think.  All the new material sounded incredible.  Really, really tight.
I had high expectations to get my face melted by "In It's Infancy" and "Tropics", both of which kicked ass, but I was really surprised to see and hear "Only Memories Remain" with an extended Jim solo that I daresay ventured into "Dondante" territory.
The entire set was terrific, but that Steam Engine?

Unbelievable.

I can't believe someone could see that and then complain the the closer was different.  It was my wife's first show and I think she was expecting OBH but she wasn't disappointed.

gardenparty

Oh all the news songs sounded amazing at kcrw.  They are playing as good as ever.

How did Like a River sound last night?  That one slayed me

The amount of people bitching about no OBH on the way out of the theater was unreal.

That's crazy.  I love OBH but I could go without hearing it at a show.  Usually when I hear it, I'm sad because the show is over!

You should have told them to find a new band if they were in the market for predictable.

Looking forward to hearing that Steam Engine soon. Thanks for the updates and reports, folks. Gonna be a great summer.
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I thought it sounded fantastic.  They were on their game last night and all the new songs were on point.  Spring as an opener is the way to get shit rollin'
"Listen to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul."

Great setlist. And At Dawn is on their radar!

Approximately how long did they play for?

Stevie

I could be wrong but I feel like they went on around 8:20 and then finished at about 10:50 so 2.5 hours.  Perfect really it was an exhausting show (in a good way).  I walked away feeling like nothing more needed to be played...  They played the whole waterfall too!

Fully

I think Jim just changed his mind about At Dawn. Patrick was playing his opening to At Dawn,  it was obviously going to be at dawn,  then it becomes thin line.

I really liked the lights at the point where they are doing some cool retro 80's geometric pattern and then it started changing into the colors of the space wizard jacket Jimbo is wearing on this tour. Very freaky and psychedelic.

Nice description there Fully.     Very freaky, and psychedelic works for me!

Looking forward to seeing that for myself in Chicago.
"Where's Jim going?"

I lost my mind and control when Jim dropped his hand with the bass at the beginning of "Victory Dance."  Outstanding show!  Loved it!
