First off, I love the idea of Roll Call. It's probably the best deal out there, more than worth your money. What I'm wondering though, is this: How many tickets will they be putting out there for the RC presale?

Remembering the last time this all went down a few years back, I was pretty frustrated that I got shut out of pit tickets immediately for a show (like, I was on AT 10, refreshing). Then, to my surprise, it was easy as pie to get them when the tickets went on sale the regular day.

I hope they're not just throwing out 25 tickets or so per show for these RC presales, that kind of defeats the purpose. Anyone have any insight?

Cheers!

I only signed up for roll call last year so this will be my first time buying tickets.   How many tickets can a member purchase to a show?

4, I believe. Last time it was 2.

I recall the same ordeal.  I actually emailed Wilco quite pissed off about this on their last tour.  I lived in Chicago, it's quite an ordeal to get tickets to their show in Chicago.  Any who I live in Seattle now and I do the presale for their show.  and not a ticket could be had by me.  But two days later I had GA tickets through the regular sale.  I Want to be as close as possible for Red Rocks but only the first 25 rows are GA supposably.  any who when I emailed Wilco their guy got back to me and was like only 10% of tickets scattered through out the venue are released.  Well that explains why i got box seats at the Auditorium in 06, i was just lucky.  It truly is quite annoying the way ticket purchases go.  And it also is annoying that the west coast didn't make this leg of the tour. I'm dying for a paramount MMJ show (if you haven't noticed when i write i really love hyperbole).  Last time they played i could hear every instrument and felt as though I was getting my face melted off, yet i left with barely any ringing in the ears!  what a killer night.
Can you keep it simple? Can you let the snare crack? Can you let it move without holding back?

Like most other bands get for their presales  I would say it's probably around 10%, maybe a little more but not much. So if they're playing a 3,000 seat theater those 300 or so tix will go quick. Especially if people can get four tix.

The Cap presale tix last tour were gone in a flash, but the band really has no control over that. I'm just glad we get an opportunity to grab some tix. If I get them great, but it's not like the band has to offer any presale tix, so to me it's a bonus perc.

I'm a Roll Caller first for the access to sound checks, early entry to GA Shows, the poster, and 7" vinyl, and the chance to score tix early is really last on my list. It would be different if they got a lot more tix, with them being only the best seats in the house. Then the tix would be the #1 reason for me, but that's not the case. We're not assured of getting tix or them only being the  best ones.

GA early entry is pretty much where its at for roll call, the rest to me is just icing.

^^^EXACTLY^^^     I have been to 10 MMJ shows, only one has sold out. The early purchase reserved seating tickets are nothing special.

I agree for the most part but I did score a front row orch pit seat for a show at the Mann through Roll Call, so they do get some good ones. It's really about what the venue makes available to them, and how many. The following year, the Mann kept the pit seats for their patrons, and none of us could get them through RC.

I guess it's just a PSA then: If you're trying to get pit tix during Roll Call and get shut out, maybe it's worth not getting tix right then and there and rolling the dice during regular on-sale date.

I do agree, all amenities RC-related are money in the bank. Esp. if they do soundcheck access again. That was terrific.

Most of the shows that I had tried in the past for early entry ended up not having it or not being informed ahead of time. One time, we were let in at the exact time that they let in regular people and because we were in a separate "Roll Call" line at the back of the venue we actually were at a disadvantage haha.

One day I'll enjoy the early entry of Roll Call lol

Exactly! The venues are clueless till about 5 min before opening the gates. It won't help to call or plan too much ahead of time. Just show up early, pitch a fit and make your own lines and then inform them what's going on.
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

If you purchase 4 tix through the roll call deluxe presale, do all 4 get the early access to the venue?

Not if it stays the same as previous tours. It was only a +1 with each laminate, and I haven't seen anything that says that's changed.

I'm just wondering if I should bother with the pre-sale.  Since I'm already a roll call member, I might as well check for good seats on Monday, but I have a feeling if I hold out for Friday, I would be better off.  I've never had phenomenal seats at a show before (unless it is GA). To wait or not to wait...that is the question.

I always give it a shot but never get stressed about it. If I'm lucky enough to snag a sweet seat, great. If it's a small venue or tough  ticket, and I'm happy to just get in the door I'll take it. For normal shows if I don't get what I really want, I'll pass, and try my luck at the general sale.

I will say with most of the shows I have to travel for, I've leaned more towards the general sale in case I can't make it. Then I have a hard ticket in hand that I can maybe sell or if not at least miracle someone without the ticket going to waste.

I said it before, but I really wish they would at least allow us to transfer the tickets to another Roll Caller if we need to. They would still have to show ID, and pick them up at Will Call, but at least they wouldn't go to waste when RC's can't make a show. It still bugs me that I couldn't miracle someone my three Wiltern tix and they just sat there at the box office. It wasn't even about the money because the 3-pack wasn't that expensive, it was knowing someone could've had a blast at those shows but didn't.

If roll call pre sale does only get 10% of the venues max capacity it is going to be difficult for even roll call members to get early tix at the GA Theater.  Thats maybe 100 tix for roll call members.

They never guaranteed us all to get tix to any show but at least if 100 tix go to RC 's that's better than nothing, and also less people trying at the general sale. Another bonus is that's 100 less tix for scalpers to get a shot at.

I'm really only worried about the presale for Ga Theatre , because I doubt RC gets more than 100 for a venue just over 1000. I'm not even sure that I'll try for Presale at the Fox since it's such a large venue...
