I was at the Knoxville show and Spring was the opening song.  It appears (with a very light glance at some of the other set lists) that they are opening with Believe at the other shows.

In my opinion, opening with Spring in Knoxville was clutch...it really set the tone.  And Jim's lengthened solo/bridge towards the end is really, really cool.  I just feel like it packs a lot more punch than Believe does.

Anybody agree?  Disagree?  Thoughts?

Spring (Among The Living) is currently my favorite track off The Waterfall.  I can imagine it could make for a powerful opener and hope it happens at one of the six shows I'll see in June!
The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

I'm positive Spring would make an excellent opener.  I was at the Athens show where Believe opened.  Of course Believe set a tremendous tone to the show.  However, as much as I anticipated new jams like Compound, Thin Line, Memories and Tropics, Spring surprised me the most as a song that was devasting live, as compared to the record.

I could definately see it serve as an astonishing opener or even a first set closer.  Hopefully, they'll open with it one night in Atlanta :cheesy:

LOVED Spring as the opener at Knoxville and Mahgeetah as the closer.

When I first heard spring I was thinking it as the opening song for the shows. Then the more I listened to the album, it makes more sense for believe. It is certainly worthy of an opener AND it's the first track on the album. I hope to see both!!!
Doesn't matter what you're doin', as long as you're losin' your head

What Jaye said.  Spring was a fantastic opener in Knoxville. I was so excited when they started it and I realized that they weren't opening the show with Believe, which is very predictable.

Also agree that Mahgeetah was a great closer.  It was very cool how Athens and Knoxville almost felt like a two-night run with only one older song (Wordless) repeated across the two nights.
My heart can't wait to meet you on the other side.

I'm all for Spring as the opener as well.

Believe can fit anywhere but Spring seems it would be such a perfect set opener

Athens and Knoxville definitely felt like a two-part series.  My initial though was that they would use that opener formula going forward for the two and three night shows.  Perhaps they will go w an At Dawn or Rollin Back for the third night of Chicago or SF.

I really like Believe as the opener myself. Especially the way Carl really lets loose on some soloing at the end. Waiting to see if the open the Chicago shows with three different openers. I'm guessing the third night will open with an oldie.

I prefer Spring. Believe is just a little too dippy for me lately.
