I've downloaded two tracks (Old Sept Blues/War Begun) from the 9:30 Club gig on Jan 31, 2004.

Can't hear them at all using Winamp and barely audible at max volume using vlc media player.

Am I being a muppet or is there a technical issue with these recordings?  :-[

i don't know much about 24 bit recordings except that for can't burn them to a disc, which is not for me.  your problem could be that you need to convert flac files using flacfrontend, but just know that you'll only be able to hear these files on your computer.

Another problem might be your sound card does not support 24 bit audio.  I'll download war begun and see if it'll work on my end and report back

EDIT: Worked fine on my end playing it through win amp....not sure how I overlooked this one, nice recording.

Thanks Million.

I thought that as I got some output from VCL I wouldn't need to use Flacfrontend.

Working great now, thanks again.

You posted as I was replying to Million.

Thanks for going to the effort for me but Million was right, I did need to decode those files with Flacfrontend.

Its amazing what VLC can do though!.

Great gig by the way. I'm going to downpoad the rest of it, thank God I've got 500g to play with :)
