Was worried we'd have to make the drive from Tampa to Alpharetta once again so we're pretty pumped to have them in our backyard.

Their last show at the Hard Rock (December 2011) was pretty damn awesome:

Victory Dance
Circuital
It Beats 4 U
The Way That He Sings
I'm Amazed
Outta My System
Wonderful (The Way I Feel)
X-Mas Curtain
O Is the One That Is Real
Steam Engine
Movin Away
Golden
Holdin On to Black Metal
Smokin from Shootin
Touch Me I'm Going to Scream Pt. 2
Off the Record
Mahgeetah

Encore:
Bermuda Highway
Wordless Chorus
The Day Is Coming
Gideon
One Big Holiday

Can't wait!

This will be our last (of four for the tour) and hopefully the best one.  Looking forward to see the guys in a smaller venue.

I'm a last minute addition for the show.  See you kids there

grizzy

Strangulation, O is the one, Bermuda, War, wonderful man, etc, etc.

They really treated this like night two of St. Augustine with just a few repeats. Pretty sure the only songs from The Waterfall we didn't get from those two shows are River, Big Decisions, and Get the Point. Bummer on Like a River cause I really dig it (I'm in the minority).

Was hoping for Steam Engine and or Run Thru but still a great two shows.

Poster is fahking awesome. I'll post a pic tomorrow.

I was thrilled with the show, I love me some MMJ. No complaints there. I'll preface this with the fact I've been to literally hundreds of shows. My dad was in the industry (just a few years ago I could have had backstage passes to just about anything in town), He's done his time on tour though. Crowds are usually great, but, something was odd about tonight. I found a spot left of stage, posted up twenty some minutes before Mini Mansion went on, tried to enjoy myself. I really would like to know what has changed in the past few years with these younger kids. It's like someone has been giving these kids narcissism injections through social media. By your 3rd selfie, you should quit. Nope, #cantliveinthemoment. Who the.... checks facebook during "holding on to black metal"? That's not even the worst part. I can't take elbows and knees all night long anymore. Now, I've gotten down to some pretty Heavy Metal in my day, but this is MMJ... By the fifth time they have to say sorry because you're literally trying to mosh to MMJ, at some point they have to commit to self control. My right pinky toe might just be broken. The plastered college kids in front of us couldn't stay contained in their individual four by four foot bubble (Which is somewhat understandable, it IS mmj afterall), and the 400 pound, female ham beast behind us couldn't either. I'm talking to you, Jaba's mom, because you were the only one there with short hair dyed pink, after you died^ it blonde, and you have brown roots. You have a tri-color inbred flag flying on your head. I don't ever want to think about feeling your fupa slam into me again, I counted a minimum of 30 times. It was something like being dry humped by a walrus to a MMJ soundtrack. In fact, that's exactly what was happening. Not just to me either, after I shot her the "gtfo" look, she started in on my wife. After being shoved, throttled, pushed, We moved to the back. Anything near the front and you'll feel it in the morning. None of this reflects on the real MMJ fanbase, because this is Florida, where the strange just gets stranger everyday. I talked with a bunch of fans there, a totally great group of guys and gals. It's just something with a Standing Floor and Orlando that makes it completely unenjoyable.

The kicker is, I watched a guy go get drinks for his group at least 6 times and did so with excuse me's and thank you's, without a single problem getting through the crowd. He did so with like 7 brews at a time. Everyone else would have just punched me in the face after saying "do you even lift brah" and shoved to the front.

At least I've learned that left of the center of the stage is where all the drunk late people flock to, to push out everyone else to get upfront. Everyone that was there from the beginning was awesome. It's the late showers that have some serious issues.

I'll be going again, im just going to bubble wrap myself before hand. I have to work on remembering that I can't let people get in the way of enjoying one of the best bands I've ever heard.

I've been to 4 shows this tour and had very different crowd experiences at each one. The floor up front at the Athens show was a little bit like the way you describe Orlando. Lots of young kids, many unfamiliar with the band, came for the party. No moshing, but definitely some shoving and general rudeness. Cleveland was a much older crowd, I'm almost 50 and felt pretty at least like I was the median age. I was about 10th row for that one, but had a lot of lame people standing around me with blank stares. I had crummy seats for Minneapolis night 1 and unfortunately was in the balcony with the older people. The floor seemed to be having a good time, but I was asked to sit down twice during the show in my section. The best crowd for me so far was Charlotte. Lots of dancing and met a lot of fun people.

I'm hoping the upcoming Fox shows will bring the best of the tour. A weekend 2 night run in the famous Fox Theater should draw a great crowd...

grizzy

Sorry to hear that.

We were right in front of Jim, about 3 or 4 back, and the crowd was awesome. Polite (lots of people asking "can you see ok?") and in to the show (no texting, talking, or endless selfies).

That's how the pit is at any show. 10 feet away can be a herd of bro's but you don't see them when you're surrounded by good minded Jacket fans.

I will say that I liked the energy (and the set list) better at St. Augustine but that's like comparing doughnuts.

I've lived in FL for nearly 20 years and can say that people down here are just generally rude & inconsiderate. That said, I thought most of the crowd last night was well-behaved, with the exception of the pathetic 45 year-old brunette woman next to us (we were at the very front against the rail, slightly to the right of Jim) who was acting like a 20 year-old.

I'm all about bouncing around a bit and really getting into the music during the show, but this woman was just awful. She was dancing around like Elaine Benes (the only way I can accurately describe the "quality" of her moves), taking up enough space that you probably could have fit 3 or 4 more people in our area. But apparently that extra space wasn't enough for her, because throughout the entire show, she was knocking into people with her limbs flailing around akimbo and whipping her hair around, which was hitting everyone in the face.

At one point I put my arm on the rail to my wife's left (i was directly behind her) to create some buffer room, and after this sloppy drunk mess knocked into it about 15 times, she turns to me and said, "Are you doing that on purpose?". I responded that I'm just trying to allow my wife to enjoy the show and not get knocked around all night by your "dancing". Her response was, "I've been here for 3 hours!", because apparently that gives one permission to act like a complete asshole all night.

The worst part was that at one point, this very short girl (like 5 foot even) who clearly had some issues with her legs/walking was attempting to get a better view by moving up front. The nasty old wench was literally elbowing this girl out to prevent her from getting next to her. We were just speechless, and obviously my wife made some room and let the girl in right next to her.

People just amaze me, but, karma's a bitch.

All that said, a fantastic show overall, the best of the 5 MMJ sets I've seen. Setlist was incredible, getting War, Strangulation, and O. Lots of old stuff and it was a pretty good change of songs from the last time we saw them at Forecastle. This set actually blew away Forecastles, actually. Still on the search for Dondante live though...

I, also, thought this show was the best of the 3 FLA shows (and maybe the Forecastle one I saw too).  Setlist was great, the playing seemed tighter and more focused, especially when they slammed right into Wonderful Man from O is the One.  War Begun had a nice and longer jam than the St. Aug one and followed by a nice intro into Way He Sings.

And in response to the crowds on the rail or close to the front, if you've been to more than a handful of shows before, you should know that's the risk you run.  Maybe at a destination show (i.e One Big Holiday) where every person is there for the same reason, there might be an expectation of courtesy, but I've given up on the constant "space" battle that happens when you are close to the stage.  I know what the band looks like by now and would rather not have to fight the crowd at this point.  Also, having a short wife has factored into the decision of not caring about being close anymore.

Wish I was heading to the FOX instead of being home right now...

Love the "O is the One ..." immediately into "What A Wonderful Man". That really got the crowd going and then "Thin Line" to "War Begun" to "Way That he Sings" ---powerful shit there, wow. This is why I will try to see them for the third time this year.

For our situation, it had nothing to do with our own personal space...we're all about allowing people to crowd in tight and to expect otherwise that close to the stage would just be crazy. But there's a difference between getting bumped around a bit in tight quarters vs someone's seizure-esque dancing taking up a bunch of extra space that smaller fans could have occupied. And my main issue is that she was just a trashy, inconsiderate shmuck.

But alas, it was an absolutely incredible show, best I've seen from them to date. Wish I could see them one more time on this tour.

SpaceWrangler

I don't normally ride the rail, but when I do, I look crazy as fuck and people leave me alone.

Seriously though, time to consider hanging out with us at the soundboard.  I never have a bad time back there and the sound is great.

Yeah that triple shot of Thin Line War Begun I Will Sing You Songs caught my eye, nice!  Oops it was The Way He Sings, I guess, not I Will Sing You Songs.  Still pretty cool triple shot, but I Will Sing would've been over the top!
