^^^ I agree, they needed more than 2 hours- they even had to scratch Anytime from the set list...
But most people at that Bonnaroo set were seeing them for the first time (myself included) and for them, I think it was fucking perfect! Would have loved to hear some deeper cuts and more jamming but they squeezed every ounce of energy possible out of the 2 hours they were given
I agree it was a bit of a MMJ sampler set, and it definitly left me wanting more.. but the vibe of the whole thing was amazing. The crowd was into it.. Victory Dance while the sun setting gave me chills, first time I heard the new songs live... the shredding during Spring just epic.

Red Rocks and Boston Night 1 def had amazing set lists and I loved every second of each but Bonnaroo just was a completely different feeling for me this year. Simply incredible in my mind.. i've seen a lot of shows in my life, and very few have left me talking about them this long after.

If we're talking sets and an encore is considered a set, the Beacon night 4 encore is pretty tough to beat for me. The whole night is up there but that encore was other worldly great!

may not be the best set of 2015, but the SDSU show is really underrated:

Mahgeetah opener is always fire! Quick, Xmas Curtain, War, Picture of You, Rollin Back, Phone
Don't you ever turn it off

The audio quality on that recording is outstanding for an audience sourced set.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

Gotta go with night 1 at OBH2... not sure if it was the excessive amounts of cheap Mexican beer, the breeze coming off the ocean, or the uniqueness of the setlist, but I wish you all could have been there to see it. I never realized how great a Christopher Cross song could be until Jim got his hands on it...

Yes, this set and all the factors that you mention (for me it was also no sleep and a gallon of Fernet and Coke)... but other set it is in contention with was N1 SF... totally different sets, but both very unique sets... unlike any I've seen or will probably ever see again!

GUYS! MMJ has NEVER opened with OBH and they did outside in Nashville!

When they played that I knew it was going to be an insane show.  Has to be #1

I say Red Rocks is 2nd and Bonnaroo a close 3rd.

I know they HAVE in the past, just not often. But nevertheless, this was my first show....can you imagine seeing OBH as the opener of your first show??

then proceeded to buy tix to ATL, Bham, Dallas, and now both nights of RR. Hooked.

OBH was the opener for the first few shows of their Spring 2010 tour.

The fact that my heart's beating is all the proof you need.

RastaRunner5

Very cool when they open with OBH.... Roseland '06 version with the screen was incredible.

easy way

They've opened with OBH over 60 times since '99.

Ha!  We just can't let that stand... Off to the spreadsheet.  Well done, Thomas!

Yessir! I understand the excitement, especially for newer fans. Until Nashville, the last OBH opener was played on 5/29/2010 at Sasquatch (218 shows). In 2004, it was common practice and we saw it lead off 16 times (most of any year). From the first documented OBH opener at Headliners in '99 through the Sasquatch show in 2010, they opened with it 8.3% of the time. If you tack on the 5 year drought leading up to Nashville, they've opened with it 6.1% of all shows. My spreadsheet shows 61 total (not counting guest spots where it was the only song played).

I wasn't there, but this was definitely a unique set. No songs from ISM and a "How Do You Know" bustout  that had not been played since T5 and was only played again at Beacon #2.
