So is MMJ seriously Ray Lamontagne's backing band this summer?

We just got a date at Artpark in Lewiston, NY (where MMJ played last summer and Jim promised to tell all his friends in the "biz" it's a place you shouldn't miss). June 29th can't come soon enough.
Oistheone, you coming!?
Compared to the rest of the dates, you'll never beat the prices for Artpark. Most expensive ticket is $27!

My plan was to catch them at WayHome, but this June 29/30 ArtPart extravaganza of MMRay+Mavis Staples+Dylan is tough to resist! Might have to make my way back to Lewiston this summer!

July 23, at the Constellation Brands - Marvin Sands PAC (CMAC), shows The Arcs opening.  I hope they open the entire tour!

Just a heads up for anybody that was planning on going tomorrow.......the show at SXSW has been canceled due to illness.

the replacement band is Deftones which is still pretty awesome (depending on your tastes... i'm stoked)

Yeah, still going for Deftones and not upset at all.

While we're all basking in the wonderful stories and recordings from RR, I was curious how many on here are going to see the boys with Ray over the summer? Would it be out of line to set up Roll Call type threads for any of these shows, if people are going, so we can keep up to date/check in/meet up/reminisce afterwards?

I'm going to the Louisville Palace show August 2nd.

I'm going to the St. Louis show. Really excited and interested to hear how it's all going to play out. I can imagine the boys on a good chunk of the new album, but as I've gone through the rest of Ray's discography, I've kind of been thinking with each song, "can I picture the boys playing on this one? What about this one?"

LBSUNFLWR

I've loved Ray since I first heard Trouble and have only seen him twice so I'd be going no matter who was playing with him. getting MMJ minus Jim as Ray's band is a big bonus! I'll be very curious to hear the band on some of the older stuff, especially on God Willin and the Creek Don't Rise stuff. I love that album.

I'll be at the Artpark show in Lewiston, NY.  Ray was asked how he thought the shows would go when the MMJ tie in was announced. He said he'd prolly come out and do a few songs alone to get warmed up, then the band would join him to play the whole new record, and that there would obviously be some surprises mixed in. I'm sure it's all subject to change, but as we all know, MMJ is arguably the most musically able band out there, so I'd say expect any and everything. Can't wait to see and hear how this goes!

Seeing them at Newport Folk Fest. Hearing that Jim may make an appearance as well. We shall see.  Anyone else hitting NFF up?

Yup. I've expected Jim to be there so will be a little disappointed if he's not.

Yuls & I are gonna try to make a show, depending on what else we have going on . STL, Indy or Louisville ( never been to The Palace).

The Palace is the coolest. It is on a Tuesday night though.

Me and Mrs. Beer are going to be seeing them in Cleveland on June 30th.

Yes, that's the  drawback - getting down to the Palace on TU, 120 miles away.
Also just confirmed that Juls' friend is in Indy for conference all week at JW Marriott just across the street from White River Park.
So, looks likes pregame drinks are  on her and then walk over to venue on Sunday evening.
