Sounds exactly (with one note missing at the end of the riff) like Run Thru

listen to when the bass riff comes in about a minute or two into this Spacemen 3 classic and tell me that doesn't sound exactly like the midsection riff in Run Thru (just minus the resolving note at the end)

interesting....

Definitely sounds the same, but it's a pretty simplistic riff that I'm sure you could find in a lot of songs.

As always, Jacket does it best.

absolutely, that riff's in a ton of things but not one so specific, usually they stop at the D-E slide on the fifth string, like the riff that begins Mountain Song by Jane's Addiction.

just thought it was a funny coincidence

The middle jam in Run Thru is the same as the jam Pearl Jam threw into the middle of Porch on the '91 and '92 tour.  I've always wondered if Jim grew up on Pearl Jam bootlegs, like many of us, and that part worked its way in.
