like i said earlier, i've only been to a few shows here - and i'm not sure any were completely sold out, maybe radiohead or bon iver - but i've never seen the floor full.  it is a large floor and it has always been pretty sparse towards the back.

At some point logic kicks in and people realize side seats are better than back floor.

This is what I was thinking. I personally would rather sit in seats close to the stage than be on the floor in the back.

talltyson

To each their own.  My first choice would be standing by the soundboard, which was pretty far back for Radiohead.  Seats are easy to save and good for resting.  Good news the place is so small every spot should be decent.

Anyone have recommendations on hotels. I am considering the Westin in Broomfield. But would love to hear where others are staying.

Haven't begun to look yet, but I much prefer to be in Denver proper and uber/Lyft to the shows. It's really not that much money in the grand scheme of things. So many more awesome breweries, restaurants, coffee shops and culture in Denver neighborhoods. I like the higlands hood but there are so many great ones (on the Broomfield side of Denver) Do you really want to be in corporate hotel/applebees world for 3+ days when such an awesome city is right down the road?!? No shortage of awesome vrbo/airbnb options. Just my .02!

We did an Air BnB in May when I was there and we had hoped to stay at the same one but it is booked for all of December and haven't had found another good one.

I looked at the Westin but am going to stay at the Doubletree in Westminster. I mostly settled on that because I'm a Hilton guy and will be using points so that'll work great for me. The rates weren't that bad either but points saves me the $$. It's only 5.1 miles from the venue and the hotel offers a comp shuttle to/from the venue as well.

I also snagged a great rate on a rental car so I'll be able to get around to Denver, Boulder, visit friends or get wherever, so staying out in corporate country isn't that big of a deal to me. Plus I'll have the shuttle to fall back on for the shows if the Grey Goose is flowing.

Check the 2 Hotels that the VIP thing has, the Hyatt and the Curtis, both in Denver and a bunch of MMJ fans already staying there.

hahahahahah hotdamn EricM you are a master of this travel stuff! Seriously, you've got it all figured out and perfect, ready for you upon arrival. I LOVE THAT. That's how I like to be and thank you for your help, personally, in helping me with those accommodations man, your advice has been and will be very very useful and appreciated. You seem to travel the right way, relaxed, comfortable and not in a rush. We all know that when people are rushing while traveling, you WILL LOSE things, including your mind and if in Siberia or Latvia, a testicle or kidney or two.

Haha. Years of practice my man, years of practice.

Trust me, I've made my share of road trip mistakes over the years but thankfully haven't made the same one twice.

^This yes! I don't think all of it will fit, but they can trim as they go.

The Mrs. and I picked up reservations yesterday at the Bud & Breakfast Adagio Denver (http://www.budandbfast.com). If anyone else is interested, it is friendly to those enjoying the spoils of Colorado and it is right near the shuttle pick-up at Illegal Petes Colefax.

Today in the regular ticket sale we were able to get "Z Experience" all three nights with shuttles! We booked our flights! New Years countdown starts now! :cheesy:

Looking for some help from some locals here.

I could use some suggestions for a good sports bar in the Broomfield area that'll have the NFL Sunday Ticket so I can watch the NY Giants on Sunday.

It's supposed to be the early game which is 1:00 pm eastern, so do your places open and serve beer/booze for games starting at 11:00 local time? I'd imagine they do but just want to make sure.

This is not my hood, so others might be able to give better advise.  But there is a Dave & Busters about 8 minutes from venue.  Also a Buffalo Wild Wings about 6 minutes.  Twin Peaks close by.  And the bars will open up at 11am and start serving.  Some may open at 1030am or 10am, most 11am.  If looking in Downtown, South Broadway, to SE Denver I can name a ton of local places, but they are all a ways away from venue.

Thanks for the info.  Good to know they'll be open that early.

I'm definitely looking to catch the game as close to my hotel or the venue as I can get. I know I'll be drinking during the game and being able to get back for a shower and some sobering up before the show would probably be a wise idea. Sunday's shaping up to be a long, fun and booze filled day. Back in the day partying for 12-15 hours straight was no problem, now.....not so much.

If anyone hasn't snagged tickets yet,  today is the AEG / venue presale starting at 10:00 am MST.
The code is MMJNYE.

Curious if NYE will sellout immediately or not at all? Agganis arena for Boston NYE was 7200 capacity and didn't sellout, although seemed pretty full. And certainly MSG had substantially larger crowd than Boston. Broomfield capacity is 6500. No offense to Bostonians, but I'd consider Denver more of an NYE party town, and its more centrally located in the country. It also seems to have a huge music fan base in general.

I think them selling out two nights at Red Rocks is pretty telling of their drawing power there, and would think NYE is a definite sellout. How quick it would, I have no idea. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it sold out quick.

I also think the the other two nights will sell really well, and depending on who else is playing in the Denver area that weekend, stand a good chance of selling out too.

Has anyone been able to receive the venue presale code? I signed up but haven't received anything yet. Will it be emailed at the start time of the presale?

I agree Eric. RR is about 3K larger capacity, but...it's also Red Rocks. Pretty much a musical mecca. But I do agree, I also think NYE will sellout, but maybe not immediately?
