Pretty close to canceling my flight. I just don't want to get stuck in LA. It was also going to be my first trip to the bowl and this seems less than optimal.

Looks like Berkeley Greek shows are safe, which is great news, but LA -> San Diego -> Tempe could be a very rough ride.  Stay safe out there!

The Hollywood Bowl show, if it happens, is gonna be something.  San Diego should be safe, as the region will have had a few days to recover.  Hopefully damage will be minimal.
Cuz it's been so long since someone shattered me.

I have been trying to stay positive, but at this point, if I had to wager I'd say the show is off. LA doesn't handle shit like this too well. And with the Bowl being nestled into the foothills, gotta imagine there is real chance of flash flooding. At this point I'm starting to worry about if we'll be able to drive to SD on tuesday.

Gonna assess tomorrow afternoon, but will likely cancel our hotel before the 3 pm deadline tomorrow, and play it be ear on Sunday.

There should be new modeling data out at 5pm from NOAA.  I think the real litmus test will be tomorrow if it turns inland as it moves into colder water.  If it is just some or even a lot of rain, I doubt it would cancel but if its severe winds and rain that's another matter.

gotta imagine they're practicing up on Like a Hurricane right now, right?

Saw this on Reddit....

We called and spoke to a rep there - they said that the concert will definitely happen if it's only rain, but if the forecast becomes unsafe they will cancel and refund the tickets. They are monitoring incoming weather reports now, and will make a decision closer to the concert time.

They said to keep an eye on the site, and on your email - they'll communicate any cancellation there.

He also noted "we have never cancelled a concert due to weather" - so I think it's a fair bet unless it gets really bad, that it's a go.

I think it's hitting late Sunday, if at all? I'm actually looking forward to an epic rainy show!🤞

thanks for the intel!

There has also not been a tropical storm make landfall in the area since 1939, so I'd take the "we have never cancelled due to weather" comment with a grain of salt. If this goes down anywhere as predicted, will not be your usual SoCal rain event.

Yep. I'm just trying to remain hopeful. Like so many, been waiting all summer for the LA and SD shows. Will suck for the bands, for sure. I have to think they are so looking forward to playing the Bowl.

I say it's on.  Gut feeling.

Riders on the Storm cover to open..

I booked a vacation from Toronto around this show. Feels like this is just my luck lol fml

walterfredo

Officially postponed. Per the venue website.

Edit: says Monday. 🤔

Edit #2. Next Monday! Not this Monday.

Doubt we will make the rescheduled date unfortunately.

ranyart

Surprised they were able to get a new date so quickly, especially just after Red Rocks.  Super sad for all of the travelers that get/got screwed by this situation...  <3

gardenparty78

any word if Fleet Foxes are still on the bill?  I assumed they are but saw something mentioned they may not be joining now.
