What happened to the George Harrison Album?  I heard from someone very close to the band that Jim was done recording an album of nothing but George Harrison covers.  This was over a year ago so I'm sure the rumor floated around here at some point. I heard they were having trouble getting the rights to release it but if the album is already recorded all they have to do is send it to one of us and it will be released.  Where is it?  Will it ever be release?

it will probably pop up when the time is right.

How's it sound MUTHERFUCKER!! ;)
And remember to drink my beer SAMUEL JACKSON, IT"LL GET YOU DRUNK!

Reminds me of Mark Kozelek covering ACDC songs on his What's Next to the Moon record. He totally reimagined those songs and made him his own. Jim doing George Harrison sounds great on computer screen, I'm sure his family would be honored on having the ultra talented Jim James record a tribute to him like the way Koz did to Bon Scott.
The cat is out of the bag here so I hope it's release is soon. Who knows, some huge fans of MMJ may never get to hear it.

I think that we should start a petition and get a bunch of fans to sign it and give it to Jim and tell him that the world needs to hear him singing George Harrison tunes.  Want to speculate on the songlist? Of course, "Behind That Locked Door" will be on it.  "My Sweet Lord" or "All Things Must Pass" would be amazing.

I'd never heard of this till now. Is it Jim on his own or different people doing different songs? Sounds great either way. I agree that "My sweet lord" would be amazing.

I heard that is was just Jim doing about 12 George Harrison songs.  It was completed around the time that George died and so releasing it became difficult.  I suppose that the rights were hard to get because the estate was still being established, or buying the rights to the songs suddenly became more expensive, but that's just speculation.  I even heard at one point that they were thinking about releasing it in Canada.  Again, this isn't 100% but it came from a very reliable source.  I believe that the 'From Nashville to Kentucky' Website also used to have it listed as an upcoming release.
