Prog rock from the Louisville Strummers? MMJ are back with one new haircut, two new members and a follow-up to 2003's It Still Moves. On this go-'round, they prove more eclectic, abandoning any preconceived notions about Southern roots rock or grandstanding jam bands. Their music reaches a new stratosphere, crafted by the well-trained ear of Brit producer John Leckie. The fourth LP is a myriad of sound, driven by slashing guitars and haunting reverb. It's Townhall for grownups. Fear not, diehards. The live show still promises its fair share of patchouli-powered wanderlust. This tour brought to you by the letter Z. (Bob Hill)
