The official Americana Airplay chart is the industry standard for Americana airplay activity, representing the previous week's album airplay reported from commercial and non-commercial terrestrial radio stations, nationally syndicated shows, satellite radio and Internet stations which have agreed to submit weekly spin counts on their Americana programming. The chart is an album-based chart for new releases and is not meant to reflect airplay on singles, recurrents or catalog albums.

There are currently approximately 70 stations on the reporting panel, with plans to add more on an ongoing basis. The Americana Airplay Chart is emailed to thousands of professionals each week and is the official Americana chart for Radio & Records newspaper and R&R's weekly e-mail dispatch Americana Update; it is also posted online at www.radioandrecords.com (see R&R's "Formats" section).
