okay...so I have just gotten 3 random e-mails from people trying to host listening parties. very weird. why did they come to me? I will forward them to the proper e-mail, but this is odd.

If I were you, I would have played along with it and sent them the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 soundtrack.
--- and that's 2 real 4 u.

pingybrown

well...I just did download the garbage pail kids soundtrack...so I could send em that.

just got a fourth!

this sounds tight. i want the band to call someone up on the stage during the next tour to slow thrust to this.

Quotei have a feeling that, if i had nads, this new album would pump them

:-?

this sounds FANTASTIC on the sound system here at work!  waited until the crew went home.  got the mixer set to 11!

HAAAAAAAIIIIIIIII-YEAH!

side note:  am listening to the track in itunes.  i've been previewing sound effects all day, so as evil urges ends, the sounds of a video arcade fade in.  at first i thought it was the actual album track.   ;D

It sounds a lot more hip than heart, but they've been going in this direction for awhile now. Reminds me a little of Wordless Chorus taken to the next level. I was hoping the soul vibe on this album was going to be a bit more serious, but Jim seems happy. Maybe I need to be happier to fully appreciate it.....lol. Still lookin' forward to the full album.

Dude, have you hear "Highly Suspicious" yet.  All heart, no hip.  ;D

Seriously though, from the live songs there is PLENTY of heart and SOUL.   It looks like it is going to be a perfect mix.

Dillsnufus

good stuff. definitely going to pick up this album

I'm getting a "nope Try again?" message too....what do I do??!?!!??!  I want this soooo hard....

Oz

Boy, am I the only one who's almost pissing his pants laughing over that message?

"we now live in the 90's - the era of the interweb and instant gratification"

This is almost better than the accompinying music, though that's funky as hell too, ofcourse.  :)
I'm ready when you are

MarkW

The studio version sounds waaaay better than the live rip from NPR.  What a great album opener.

You're right - the email itself was hilarious.

I've applied for a listening party in the east of England.  It will be at my local pub (if I can convince the landlord) and There Will Be Beer.  :)

Edit: the breakdown (if that's the word) at 3:03 is just unbelievable...  :o
The trouble with the straight and the narrow is it's so thin, I keep sliding off to the side

Angry Ewok

This e-mail should finally debunk some peoples' implications that the band "doesn't care" about their material being leaked. Even if for private use.

"we would put the whole thing out there on the interweb, but gosh darn-it, we're still a little old fashioned in that way of wanting the listener to be able to get the actual music when it is supposed to be released, when we say it is finished - not when someone else puts it on the interweb...."

God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

It's a hell of a thing.  Did you listen to the Touch Part II album version that was linked on a thread this week?  Sooooooo good.

Evil Urges is going to be an awesome listen.  Don't think I'm going to need anything else for at least a month after its release.  :)

PS - love the tag.  Reminds me of a description I read of Wayne Rooney when he came on the scene a few years ago: The Assasin-faced baby.
