oh-wah-oh

Hey folks.  I'm looking for an album or studio quality version of Wonderful ( The way that i feel ) .  I've looked around and can't seem to track it down.  I heard MMJ play it live in columbus and have been searching since.

Oh by the way. I'm a long time lurker , first time poster :)

Welcome.  Not sure where the best version of Wonderful is, but I'll go looking until someone finds it.  No studio version that I'm aware of or that I can recall.  Great song, though.

They have never released a studio recording of this song.  Tommorow I can help you track down some of the best live versions.  But in the mean time, check this out!

What's the earliest performance?  I've got 8/2/08 Newport Folk Fest.  Anything earlier?

No, wait... 6/3/07 at the Rud

nothing earlier but also got

live w/ m.ward at st davids churst 3/18/08

live w/mmj at shoreline amphitheater 10/27/07

plus this recent tour

BH

I show it being played 34 times.  (17 of those with MOF)
It's been recorded 12 times as far as I know.
Only 4 of those are on archive.com

I'm assuming the best of the archive versions is the St. Davids version that danz mentioned.

1) 27-Oct 2007      Shoreline Amphitheatre      Mountain View, CA      Bridge School Benefit (Full Band Acoustic)

2) 15-Mar 2008 St. David's Church      Austin, TX      SXSW w/ M. Ward and Carl Broemel

3) 21-Apr 2010      Municipal Auditorium      Nashville, TN      w/ Preservation Hall Jazz Band

4) 1-May 2010      Merriweather Post Pavilion      Columbia, MD      w/ Preservation Hall Jazz Band

8-) How cool are we, that someone can ask a question and have it all laid out in under 24 hours.  And none of us even break a sweat.  I love this place!

Jim's solo show version (w/ a m. ward appearance) at the '08 Newport Folk Fest might be my favorite recording

anyone figure out the tabs for this song?

twofingers

johnnYYac can play it on an omnichord!

http://johnnyyac.tripod.com/

and there is this tab in the tab section, a couple of different versions, really easy song to play. Now only if I had a voice like Jim...

J, your too kind.  Some would argue with you as to my rendition, as we've had a chords debate recently.

Please note, too, that my website is experiencing technical difficulties.  The plug-ins that let you stream my recordings vanished (!) when I was trying to edit the page, so the only way to access them is to download them.  I'm looking for a new website provider, if you have any ideas.

Awesome. This song has become a top 5 Jacket song for me. I really hope it ends up on an mmj album, as opposed to the mysterious Jim solo album. But that'd be cool too. Actually, I want this, friends again and carried away to all be on the next jacket album.

Figured I should post this message in this thread as well - The Lighting 100 sound check audio and video is up at The Steam Engine. The version of "Wonderful" from this is pretty incredible.
