What can I say? I was blown away! Outstanding performance and really nice guys. I met Patrick and Johnny before the show at some meet and greet/pizza party type deal put on by my company (Newbury Comics). Jim was there too, but he seemed to be involved with one person or another every single time I tried to talk to him. Didn't want to be rude. Thanked Tommy for the amazing set after the show. All the guys seem real laid back and good natured.

Best show I've seen this year (besides Ween). The encore was Phone Went West and it sounded so different live. I was all smiles when I left. Can't wait to see 'em again!! thanks for an incredible night MMJ. Hope you read this!

I was at the Boston show too.  So freakin' awesome, I can't take it!  I love all the new stuff and it was sooooooo very nice to hear them perform a longer set instead of the old 40 minute ones.  They are so deserving of everything that's going on with them right now.  I'm just so excited.

The sound at the Paradise was such an improvement from the Middle East.  I hope they don't play the Middle East ever again.  The show was incredible.  My neck is still sore.  I don't think I have ever been rocked so hard.  Great crowd too, except for the one a-hole who was yelling  'johny cash" when Jim came out to play his acoustic set.  The same d-head was moshing to "phone" at the end of the show.  The guys were great and shook our hands at the end of the show.  See ya all next time.

hey that was me yelling for a johnny cash song and getting taken away by the encore - an a-hole and a d-head?  harsh stuff.  peace anyway!

dth, I was also taken away by the encore, but there was only one guy trying to start a mosh pit.  And, sorry, but i get a little annoyed when people yell requests out to the band during a show.  Maybe you aren't an a-hole.  Maybe I just need to be a little more tolerant of people.  Sorry, my bad.  And if it was you, we really pounded the hell out of that speaker. 8)

does anyone know what the setlist for the show was? mostly the songs that jim played solo. i recognized a few of them and i think there was a cover song but i didn't know what it was.

Ya absolutely I am an a-hole (but not a dickhead) and ya it was me pounding the hell out of the speaker with you.  I guess I could concede that at an MMJ show, it is better to pound the hell out of a speaker than each other (I guess) - but my thrash roots run deep.  And I really don't remember trying to start a mosh pit - then again I don't remember how I got onstage at the end and how I got a drumstick and hugged Jim (as my friend C-Manis reminded me) and I have been known to start mosh pits before so I won't deny it.  Oh the memories I could have if I didn't drink my face off all the time.  I guess one man's moshing is another man's waltzing.  I'll save it for the slayer show in worcester in october.  But holy jebus, that encore was intense, I remember that much.  Peace out.

Well,

Since I have a setlist from the show, framed in my room, i'll just relate it here:

Mahgeetah
Dancefloors
Heartbreakin' Man
The Way That He Sings
Lowdown
Dark
X-mas Curtain
Evelyn is not real
Just One Thing
Master Plan
One Big Holiday
I will sing you songs
Steam engine
Run Thru
---
???? (a)
Bermuda Highway(a)
Strangulation (a)
Golden (a)
War Begun
Phone Went West

(note, DARK was supposed to be played prior to LD, but Patrick or someone skipped it, and began Lowdown - Jim kinda looked up and smiled at their folly. It was cool)

In response to the Dick and Ass comments - this was a difficult show to watch from the front row (two fights, a person got kicked out, lots of unneccessary thrashing at the very end, and some weird dudes.) Definitely a strange vibe up front. But, the show rocked in every other way imaginable!! Run Thru live is amazing.

i don't think they could have played a better set!?  anyways, i do apologize for calling dth an a-hole and dickhead, you are probably a very fine young man.  as far as the crowd being strange, yes i do agree.  but, i was banging my head so hard that it probably looked like i was having an anurism (spelling?).  either way, mmj kicked ass, and i will probably ru n into all you guys in the front next time.  peace to all.  and keep it real.
