Anyone know what year and model his takamine is?

oh come on gutenabend, give people a little more than an hour to reply ;)

it's a dreadnought but don't know what model, looks like an old G-300 series to me but that's guessing cause I really don't know my takamines.

maybe someone else can give some more details.

i'm pretty sure doesn't even really know the model number.

i bought a guitar world acoustic where they interview him and I think he's had it since his teens, and has never really known the model number.

Takamin's are decent guitars if you are playing plugged in. they use Japanese woods to make them, but they have high quality electronics with them. Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi are some of the most famous Takamine players.

They make some cheap guitars.  But their high-end models, the ones made by hand in their shop in Japan, can cost several thousand bucks.

Jerry played a Takamine on most of his projects with Grisman.  That model costs about $4K.
