All Right Fuckers, I know your still trying to collect the pieces of your brains off the floor of that new ampithere of yours but Give Us Some Fucking Details...Man. We want a setlist and some detailed reviews.
There's Still Time.........

all i have to say is... you gotta love a guy that can play in his bath robe.

The band featured an all-new lineup.  I think the new guys' names were:
el Duderino (guitar, vox)
Jesus (bass)
Karl Hungus (guitar)
Walter (drums)
a nihilist (keys).

Set opened with Dylan's The Man in Me (from the soundtrack).

HIghlight:  three parts of Cobra, played while fireworks are exploding at the minor league ballpark down the street.

Awesome!

Most unfortunate aspect of the show:

CELLPHONES!  What the hell is so fucking important that everybody around me has to yell at somebody over the phone in the middle of a show?!

peanut butter puddin surprise

yo, this shit was da bomb.  uncut funk, the grooviest hometown show since...the last one! amazing show, great venue, great crowd.  nice and laid back.   8)

until of course, the kick ass performances by bobby bare jr and the boys.  the costumes were perfect-carl as carl hungus still makes me laugh.  everyone around seemed to be smiling, laughing, drinking, and yes, the aforementioned phones, although i didn't notice too much of that where i was (middle, near soundboard/tapers).  great cobra, steam engine was spot on perfect...the SOUND was truly stupendous.

it was especially killer as our own mr. cc baxter was amongst our midst, a king among gentlemen, and the all time long distance champion of the universe in "furthest distance travelled for a show".  not to mention mr. Martinovich, a saint among sinners, the most amazing dude in music business today.  these two marvelous fellas came from other parts and it was just such an honor to meet them in person.  the vibes down there on the river were smiles, smiles, smiles.  i can't thank them or all of the fabulous people there last night enough, truly one of the very best-est times had!   antoniostrohs, jacksoncooper, danilove, lindap, dwight, scott...everyone in the mmj community from here and way other parts, friends, neighbors, countrymen-fucking outstanding show of love and support.  Truly a time that will not be forgotten anytime, ever.

Thank you.

I went to the show in Louisville last night and It was the best show ever(since the last time I saw them in Louisville at the Bob Dylan Concert) I did notice that some people were taping the show, and I was wondering how I could get a copy of that show. I was going to bring my taping equipment to the show but I was not to shure if it was ok, I just heard from the grapvine that MMJ allows taping which I think is AWSOME. I do have several shows to trade if anyone reading this has a copy of the show. my email is dj_organic_01@hotmail.com please email me on any leads on this. Pete Adams ;D

Yo, John, I was right there by you.  Back by the tapers, straight ahead of Carl.  By the way, the 'new guys' are great!

peanut butter puddin surprise

yep...saw you and many of our drunken brothers and sisters on the three day bender I seem to still be recovering from.  (repeat after me:  no more cheap beer, no more cheap beer...ah hell, who am I kidding?  ;))

Another sign that the boys will never be full of themselves:  They shared the same porto-pots as the fans.
Also, Jim prefaced "Strangulation" by saying that the song was cursed.  Anybody know why he said that?

peanut butter puddin surprise

Hmmm...I heard that too and wondered what that was about.  Perhaps it may be due to the fact it hadn't been played live before with the full band?  Or am I just assuming?

Just wanted to say, on behalf of danilove and myself, that MMJ at lebowskifest was absolutely FABULOUS.  ;D ;D ;D The sound was amazing, the setlist was a treat, and of course the lebowskiness of it all was quite glorious~~ I think it was a feat of humanity that patrick managed to drum with that lumpy-ass vest on. "Cobra" was a beautiful moment, and "Strangulation" is still one of my faves, although now I admit curiosity as to its cursedness...

It was excellent to see so much of the louisville crew around~~always good to spend some time with the hometown crowd. (thanks for enduring the chaos, jacksoncooper!) and all hail the mighty transatlantic journey of our dear, ubertalented webmasta Riny...so great to finally meet you!

hope everyone had a wonderful time...if not, know that you missed out on something major and get your tickets early next year!

It was a great show!!  Damn wished I had known that the ampitheater was nowhere near Jo's Crab shack!!  I still have blisters on my toes LOL!!

Oh well, it was perfect weather, perfect crowd.  Hey what was up with brining an extra beer wagon, but not more port of pots!!  Haha, it was fun anyways everyone high fiving as the exited and the next one entered!!

Oh and the fireworks just set off the evening (even though it wasn't part of the show)

He made it to the ocean, had a smoke in a tree.
The wind rose up set him down on his knee.
A wave came crashing like a fist to the jaw.
Deliver him wings,

which mailing list?

Oh, oh ... there's only one MMJ mailinglist!

http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/mymorningjacket

It's pretty quiet, but has been around since early 2000. This forum has way more members, and I joined it because of that - more members, more talk probably - but I always like(d) mailinglists more ... Anyhow ... I'm not goin' into that again (mailinglist members around for some time probably know what I'm talkin' about).

"An estimated 3,000 people watched the My Morning Jacket concert at the new Waterfront Park amphitheater, according to promoter Spotlight Productions."

Not too shabby.  Wish we could have been there, too :-)
