I sort of wished the other day that they would go back and re-record some of that Tennessee Fire stuff that is muffled (ie, I Will be There When You Die). Is that sacrilege for me to say??  ??? ???

Well, yes, it is. Goddamn, the way 'I will be there when you die' is recorded is absolutely divine! The noises in the beginning, the way it sounds like you're approaching Jim, and then his voice with that natural reverb... Wow! Can't you hear that? Are you so spoiled by ultra hi-fi smooth Britny Spears recordings that you can no longer hear the beauty of natural sounds anymore?

I'm sorry, but this is sort of a hot topic for me. That song and the sound of that album, damn, the first time I heard that was so overwhelming... That album is classical. Drop the "oh, I hear a hiss in the background, it's not perfect!"-bullshit and learn to understand this.
