Has anybody listened to this yet?  Is it as good as I remember?

It was sooooo good.  Lord.

ratsprayer

ive been mainly listening to the bham show lately, but i started with the athens show which was the first i downloaded.  those both have gotten loads of listen in the car with the windows down, im using both of them pretending its a recording of the asheville and/or knoxville shows which i attended.  i was preparing to bring the cat's cradle in to the mix when i had the problem with the 24bit thingy.  i think they all sound amazing, to say the least, but im having problems with the heavy bass drum on the roo recording.  i do agree the sax on don dante comes out best on this one though.

EC

Oh man.  A very lovely, lovely friend just gave this show to me.

It's as good as I remembered.  (I also keep thinking I'm hearing myself with all my woo hooos.  In fact, it probably is me.  I was fairly spazzy that night.)

I'm glad to hear it again, too, because Bo and Carl are fucking AWESOME!!

So they played How Could I Know, and then Don Dante side by side.  I remember being pretty messed up by that.   And the next song was It's About Twilight Now, and it took me the entire song to get back into rock mode and out of cry mode.  But then I heard the first few notes of Run Thru, and I was back.

Subtle manipulators.  heh.  :)

EC

Hey everyone - did nobody take pictures at this show?

Just wonderin'...

darkglow

i'll never forget hearing "off the record" for the first time at the birmingham show.. the dramatic stops towards the end of the song were completely priceless

corey

No shit. I think about that every time I hear the song. I remember JJ did a little run to the front of the stage and kind of staggered around when everything stopped, then the one gu              itar echoes....then back into full-on rock.

Priceless.

darkglow

the best part of the whole stopping parts were when they all looked out at the crowd with shit-eating grins.. every time i listen to that recording i get chills remembering that

darkglow

and the fact that you can hear my drunk-ass brother yelling "hell yes" at inopportune moments during that show.. i kept telling him to shut the fuck up but then we were all just lost in the frenzy

EC

(Is that the same brother who kept telling Jim to "come closer"?  I met that guy, right?)

Speaking of the Sloss show, poor 'wiggum.  I swear he must've got bruised from how many times I hit him in the arm every time I got excited about something.   :-/

But that Cat's Cradle show - dudes!  git it!

darkglow

yeah.. that's him.. we were all "on crunk" like JJ stated
