I can't get the direct ticketing to accept my logon name and password and it says my email doesn't exist either. Does it help the band more if I use direct ticketing or should I just go through ticketmaster? ??? ???

yeah, direct tix should be the best online option for both sides.
I can't help you with your login problem, did you check out the FAQ / help page?

one more option:
if you tried to use a login from last year, forget about that and just create a new account.
seems like the setup changed a little so old logins might not work anymore.
