so i called ticketmaster the other day to ask about will call at at a venue and the guy tells me you better hurry there are only 30-40 tickets left for this show.  that might have been bullshit, but i was wondering how quickly you think these shows will sell out?

i'm still trying to get people together to go and i wonder how much time i have before there are no tickets left or if they even will sell out.

Steve, every show I ever bought tickets for off Ticketbasterd has the same message: "We're holding tickets just for you. Because of high demand, be sure to complete this page within 2:00 minutes"

This is for marketing purposes only, to make you feel like you HAVE to buy these tickets. I bought KOL tix in June for the 8/20 show in Nashville and it had that message. I went back in last week to get my sister tix, and it had the same message.

I wouldn't wait until the last second, but don't trust Ticketbasterd to give to accurate info about ticket availabilty.

no offense to the band, but i think it is highly unlikely for most of the shows to sell out until at least a week before.  over the summer, they played a show here in MA, and it wasn't even close to being sold out.  $20 for tix, gettin up ther fellas.  ;)

realdeal

yeah, $18 for the Nashville tix! absolute donkey poop.

oh come on now, $20 for MMJ is "donkey poop"?  It's not worth more than that?  We're not talking U2 or Eagles ticket prices here.  You can't even see a good movie with a date, drive there and have popcorn for $20.  I think MMJ is worth at least that, if not more.

Insanity. You can go see Elton John for right around $100 a ticket, that's 1 ticket, if you want to be up close and personal when he jams out Saturday Night's Allright For Fighting. Elton John rocks 5x harder than MMJ? Would you rather go see 5 MMJ shows, on the edge of the stage, or 1 Elton John show, in your chair? (And I happen to LOVE old Elton John, but not the new, older EJ.).
Let me tell ya a story 'bout the good ol' days (if you heard it before, scroll on by). In 1979, I saw Van Halen, Boston, Heart, Blue Oyster Cult, Nazareth and Sammy Hagar at the Superdome for (drum roll please) $10. TEN DOLLARS...
They called it The Day of Rock and Roll. I still have the concert T-shirt somewhere, it's about the size of a sock.
My point?
It's a super-bargain to pay 18$ to see MMJ. Actually, I feel a little guilty getting in for only $18...
45 days 'til Nashville!

wow, Heart in 1979.  My "heart" still throbs for a certain Ms. Wilson.... ;)

you guys are absolutely right.  and, i am sure the band doesn't even see half of that.  well, worth it.  I simply said that the price was getting up there.  good for them.  still doubt many shows will sellout until a week before the show. let's start a pool.  i'll give odds for each venue. ;)
