So...I'm assuming Sweatboard will be holding a big, neon sign that will gather us all at one point.  Oh, btw sweat, do you know someone named Jessica Henshaw?  She goes to UT and that's who we're staying with...longshot question I'm sure, but just throwin in out there.

Some other notes about City Hall/Nashville/etc:

The venue is very near a couple of other Nashville spots, most notably the Station Inn ("the church of bluegrass" - I actually sat next to nearly the whole band - incl. Jim - during a Gillian Welch show there) and a decent (though not my favorite) sushi place, Ru San's.  Not bad food at all.

If you're looking to grab a beer or some dinner, I'd have some other suggestions, too ... not necessarily in the vicinity of City Hall per se, but just in general.

Thanks for the info, i'll definitely try that out.

Ru San's isn't that bad. My wife always insists that we eat there because she loves sushi. They had put in a buffet at lunchtime the last time that we were there. It's also relatively close to Grimey's if I remember correctly.

i might have a couple of brosefs with me, so i would count about three people on my part.

should be rockin good fun.
The river is moving. The blackbird must be flying.

easy way

We are catching about 12 this fall and are kicking it off with a little ATL > Knox > Nash. Who else is hitting the filmore in SF?  Let us know what the scoop is with Nashville, we're a little new to the scene. thanks

I'm having a really hard time convincing my wife to go to Nashville for our anniversery. :(

C'mon, what's NOT romantic about a bunch of sweaty rockers in crowded, smoky club?!

Good luck with that, my brother.  It's a HARD sell, believe me.

Now, if you bookend nice, romantic dinner beforehand and fancy hotel afterwards, it MAY work...
Runnin' from somethin' that isn't there

haha.  I can't imagine anything I'd RATHER do for an anniversary.  :)  heh.

The only problem with celebrating your anniversary at the Nashville show is that there will be so many wicked people there, and you may not have a lot of alone time, and she might feel weird because she's not into it like you are.

What if you made your anniversary another night?  Just because, you know, sometimes you need to reschedule for rock.  ;)

Or yeah, spend the day having nice alone date time, rock at night...

Well, if she likes sushi, that Ru-San place is very close according to the previous page in this thread. I *think* I know which building City Hall is. I remember seeing a couple of buildings close to Ru-San that I was thinking would be neat as music venues.

My wife and I saw The Who in San Francisco on our honeymoon and we saw Kings of Leon last month on our 5th anniversary.

We rock  :)

Perfect anniversary restaurant:  Margot's in East Nashville.  http://nashville.citysearch.com/review/11526760

Maybe there are other guys with similar situations...  I know in Alabama, me and Corey put our "wives" together so they could hang out, and then we went up front...  Again, though, not that she's going to want to hang out with some chick she doesn't know on her anniversary.  heh.

Hey
I'm taking my wife and my best friend to the Nashville show.  We're coming all the way from beautiful Westville Oklahoma.  This is our first Jacket show and we've all got the jitters.  If anyone is interested I can leave you a cell # and you could show us how you do it there in Nashville.  It's going to be a great time.
Peace.
Politics. It's a drag. They put one foot in the grave, and the other on The Flag.
