Went to the amazing City Hall show in Nashville, and have a two part question for anyone.  1. Do bands get to pick the "house music" tracks that are played during setup before their set?  Are all of the other tour stops getting "Stand by Me", pretty good sing a long by the crowd in Nashville.  2. What i really want to know is the name of the song and artist that is singing the song that has the word "tombstone" repeatedly said in the chorus?  It sounds like Rick Danko from The Band, and i tried looking it up on their website.  It says that they had a song called "tombstone" that was a demo but never put on any of their records and is sung by Danko. Don't know if anyone could help me out, just wanting to know if every city gets the same songs before the show(are they picked by MMJ)? What is the name of singer and song that should be, but don't know if it is, titled "tombstone"?  It is played before "stand by me" during the setup.

I'm going to guess that you are right.

A.  MMJ Loves The Band
B.  They play the same CD at every show
C.  They pick what is on the Cd
There's Still Time.........

Meant to write SET instead of Det...Thanks, sweatboard, i have always wondered if the bands, sound techs, or the arena/club gets to pick their intro music.  Everyone i ask says that they think the band doesn't have anything to do with it .If it is played at every show, will someone see if this is the song....i found the lyrics....I understand that they have more connections than a normal fan, but i wonder how they got the song?  It says that it isn't on any cd's and very rare.

It's impatience that's holding back the clocks
It's a life of dates and documents
The soul searchers wheel and deal
If you're looking for repentance
They'll hand you down a sentence

Far away in Pittsburg or Paris
Love's for sale and so reasonably priced
The answers are few and far between
It just bed sheets, my friend
They're blowin' in the wind

Chorus
Tombstone, Tombstone I know your face
One day I'll meet you down at that special place
The hard-earned wisdom of the night is all for hire
And I can't tell a shooting star from a bird on fire
Tombstone, Tombstone
Tombstone, Tombstone

There's a pump organ that lives on air
I can hear it from the market place
Pallid mourners in the crowd
Some are withered but alive
Where a burnin' past can find

The parishioners pour into the square
Thinking there before his grace go I
By they are mum with deafened ears
The neediest of sinners
Will forget it before dinner

Chorus
Tombstone, Tombstone
I know your face
One day I'll meet you down at that special place
The hard-earned wisdom of the night is all for hire
And I can't tell a shooting star from a bird on fire
Tombstone, Tombstone
Tombstone, Tombstone

Are you the jailer or will you set me free
How many misdemeanors can one felony
Tombstone

Chorus
Tombstone, Tombstone
I know your face
One day I'll meet you down at that special place
The hard-earned wisdom of the night is all for hire
And I can't tell a shooting star from a bird on fire
Tombstone, Tombstone
Tombstone, Tombstone
Tombstone, Tombstone

i haven't been to any shows yet, but i definitely know that rick danko sings a song called tombstone with a incredible vocal. it was some lost band sessions that were meant for one of their later albums, jericho. it appears on another album instead, i believe the man that wrote it had a band and he just put rick's version on his album. i'm about to go to sleep but i'll look into some more tomorrow. if that is the house music that is awesome. totally good song!

they usually play some hip-hop for house music. in nashville is was Common, R Kelly, and some other shit.
