QuoteHaven't seen him around lately, but Jackson told me that he would be a couple of seats down from me at our Outlook Inn listening party.

Yes, I'll be there for sure.  I've been absent for the past couple weeks dealing with the death of my mother.  She was killed in a wreck with a tractor-trailer last Monday on I-65.

I can assure you that the MMJ show will be a very welcome distraction from all that has happened recently.

See you there,
Jackson

Holy.  Jackson, I am so so sorry to hear that.  That must've just been so terribly shocking.  Truly very sorry.  xoxo

Very sorry to hear about that, Jackson.   :(

Sounds like you need a rock show fix.

QuoteI may have just found the plans for the object of our desires...

I am not crafty, nor do I pretend to be.  Could someone try this with a piece of paper, maybe legal sized or tabloid sized, and see if this will work?
Crap me, this is hard.  I think I'm going to have to measure an american dollar and translate those measurements to paper.  I tried with legal paper, and the dimensions are wrong.

Quotewonder how the Vikings did it?
I think they mined the caves, and hammered out the hats, and then killed giant wild boars and soldered them to the helmets.

Believe  me when I tell you that the paper version is harder.  I'm about to put my spelunking helmet on.  >:(

EC

I did it.

First of all, I think that dollar bill one wouldn't work on a dollar bill.  It would be a viking hat for a small mouse.  Not even big enough for a barbie.

Okay, this viking hat thing.  You need legal paper, and you're going for length here, so keep the long end as is (ie 14 inches), and cut it so that it measures 14 x 5.75.  Keep in mind that your viking hat is going to be small.  I think the base measures about 5 inches.

I also didn't get it quite as lovely as the version shown.  And I'd have to bobby pin it to my head, because it wouldn't stay on.  If you wanted to build a viking hat that would fit your head, I would recommend stealing a poster and using that.

ok guys, these whole "making helmets out of paper " stuff, plus the fact  I'll miss the show, due to family commitments, is making me sad.  :'(

I am on the phone, trying to line up 2 dozen viking hats for the show. They're not sure they can have them here by Wednesday, but the guy also said he is optimistic about having them here by this Friday.

Now, I'll have to hand them off to someone coming through Nashville.

Please IM me if this is your mission in life.

Oh yeah, fuck SONY music and corporate greed.

When I first read that I thought  "Is there such a thing as illegal paper?"  ;)

Yeah, it comes from the wood of "buring" trees.  ;)  (hi dith!!  :))

tracy, how come you're sad?  Are the paper hats making you sad because they're kind of dorky?

Also, I had an idea.  Do you guys do firecrackers at your Thanksgiving tables?  You know those things that you "crack" and there's a prize inside, and a joke AND A CROWN?!  Because the crowns could also be good things to wear for N2theWoodz.  Like, hey?

So....  anybody feel like doing an early raid and stealing their family's crackers for the hats?   :D

headed to Mammoth cave with a pick, hammer, and cross-bow...

Jackson, extremely sorry to hear about your loss.  Hope all is O.K. given the situation.  Hope to see you at the Palace.

This may be a good time to re-live the words of the mighty Wooderson........"Ya just got to keep on living man.....L-I-V-I-N."
