Cold in Canada?

Surely MMJ is not thinking of starting the Pearl Jam tour cold without a warm-up show? It'll be a full ten days after Coachella, and they'll definitely be rusty, which not a good thing when being thrown infront of all those Kerazy PJ fans.

I think a headlining warm-up show in Toronto (Opera House seems free May 7 or 8!) would do the band a world of good. We know they love it up here, so what are the chances of it happening? Who wants it? Gimmie a HELLS YEAH!

hells yeah!!!! ill sleep on young street, or hook my self up with a hostle. id be there for sure. watch it be a surprise though, no one will know, when at some random bar, they show up and kick ass

I thought this wonderful, well-thought and amazing thread deserved a bump.

This is officially my favourite thread on the board.  ;)

Damn that would be a great idea. I fully support it!

Do you think they'll come up the night before? I may have to hit all the bars near the ACC on the off chance that they're out and about.

So, according to this thread, if MMJ came up to Toronto to play a warm-up gig the night before the PJ show, 4 people would show. While that would be quite an intimate and memorable setting, financially it may not pay off for MMJ!

If you want to be heard, raise your voice. And if you're listening MMJ Management people, it looks like The Legendary Horseshoe Tavern is also available May 7-8. The Stones warm up for thier tours there you know, and your 2002 gig there was awesome. Make it happen (and let us know first, thanks ;D!

EC

Stretch Armstrong, you are a (wo?)man of very solid and tremendous ideas.

And there would be more than 4.  I don't know if the Horseshoe is big enough.

I would paste the posters on the street signs myself and love every minute of it.

EC,

I have some bad news and some good news. I've just heard from MMJ's manager, and MMJ will not be doing a warm-up gig in Toronto. They want to limit the amount of shows before the PJ tour, especially considering Jim's recent health issues. That said, he claimed that MMJ were looking to come back to Toronto for a headling show in the Fall. Should be good.

Oh, one other thing. I've clarified my sex to avoid any other "It's Pat?" moments.

EC

oh my goodness, you were really goin' for that!

yes, it's much better to do less shows and keep everybody healthy and happy.  sometimes i get too excited about ideas and spaz out.   :-/
