QuoteThe most important question is Mr. Wordawg & Ms. Special K...was it good enough to finally make you 2 get tickets for the Astoria?!!  ;)
You don't know how much we wish we could. We couldn't get to London on a Friday without taking the day off work, which is not that easy. If there is a way we'll find it. Would love to have a Ginsters with you dragonboy.

dragonboy

Just sent you a PM Doc  :)
God will forgive them. He'll forgive them and allow them into Heaven.....I can't live with that.

Glad to hear you had a great time Doc, Greggy, etc

I'm still waiting to hear Xmas Curtain live.  It's nice to have something still to look forward to, though.

And Picture of You, War Begun, Lay Low, etc, etc,.........  ::)

It was a really nice surprise they started with that. We were discussing what they'd start with and that didn't come up. I was writing the setlist down (on post-it notes, in the dark  :-/) and, looking at the one mookie posted I got it all right. The writing's all over the place but it's a cool reminder. I've tucked it inside my copy of Z.

It was such a magical night - can't stop thinking about it.

Cool idea doc.  It will be fun to look at that piece of paper and bring back thoughts of the show every time you break out the Z!
I'm digging, digging deep in myself, but who needs a shovel when you have a little boy like mine.

I think so too. I wrote them down in case nobody posted a setlist and couldn't throw it away. (Oh Dave it was brilliant!!!)

Mr. T.

I did the same thing with my Pukkelpop setlist. It's filthy as hell, there are footprints all over the paper! They just might be Jim's or Tommy's, or Carls! Yummie Yummie Yummie  ;)
We are young despite the years,
we are concern,
we are hope despite the times

Maybe you should frame it :o

As a late comer to MMJ, Sept '03, it was Kitty Empire's review of It Still Moves, in the Observer, that was so compelling that it forced me to immediately log on to the net and check these guys out. The rest is now history! I cut  out the article and it now resides inside my ISM CD cover and reading it now and again is nearly as inspiring as listening to the album itself.

The value of  keeping these things becomes more obvious as each unit of time passes by.

Found this review.

Reads like it could have been written beforehand. Not much insight, I'm afraid :-/

My Morning Jacket @ ABC 2, Aug 25

Article by Colin Chapman

Louisville, Kentucky's My Morning Jacket seemed to break the alt-country mould with their last album, the critically acclaimed 'Z'. Jim James, the hirsute quintet's main player and front-man took the sturdy yet mournful country-rock sound forged by Neil Young and merged it with a range of disparate musical influences to create an enthralling patchwork of sound; his own mournful, reverb-laden vocal easily its strongest and most engaging element. In front of a packed and receptive ABC 2 crowd they showcase the bulk of 'Z' with work from their impressive three-album back catalogue given a healthy outing too. From keyboard-led melancholy through bouncy, hook-filled reggae; wild guitar rock-outs to more country-tinged standards, the group's versatility is put keenly on display. A near half-hour encore provides the perfect opportunity for them to exhibit their impressive repertoire to the full - the whole gig a great advertisement for their forthcoming live album.
