This was absolutely the best show I've seen by MMJ.  The energy and love in that room..from the stage to the crowd and back again...was just amazing.  The band was on fire.

Amidst a spirited atmosphere and an audience packed to the rafters, Kentucky rockers My Morning Jacket headlined Atlanta, Georgia's Tabernacle -- a renovated church with its original seats and grand pipe organ in tact. Saints and sinners alike congregated to heed the gospel of Jim James, delivered by way of his brilliant riffs and heavenly falsetto. The band covered material spanning their catalog, from the cathartic alt-country of At Dawn to the psychedelic sonic flood of Z, and highlights from the two-hour performance included the epiphanic build of "Gideon" and the jaw-dropping rendition of "Run Thru." With incomparable energy and sincerity, My Morning Jacket's invigorating take on good old fashioned rock music turned the Sunday night into one big holiday. SAMANTHA PROMISLOFF / PHOTOS BY COLIN SMITH
