I debated on whether to type this on here.  But being a fan of music and MMJ I know I would want to hear this story if it happened to someone else.  So I will tell it but not all details as some of them were personal things we discussed regarding the band, PJ tour etc.  But a great conversation nonetheless.  Anyway I was rocking out to the show on Jim's side just behind the huge throng of people by the stage.  Well, some older  folks (I say that in the most respectful way)  were beside  me chillin enjoying the show and I chatted with the guy beside me.  He asked if I've seen them and I said yes, 8 or 9 times.  He was genuinely interested it seemed as if i was a huge fan.   So we talked for a few minutes about this that and the other so I asked him if he had seen them and he said yeah, a few times, he's an old school fan.  So I said awesome.  I asked where and he said a lot of places, "my son is actually up there singing."  My exact words were "you're fuckin Jim James' dad."  He said yeah and introduced himself as Jim Sr.  And he had the all access pass etc. and I never noticed until he said something.  So we rocked out and watched the rest of the show.  I tried to make a conscience effort not to bother him, but he was pleasant, thanked us for coming out.  I just told him "much respect" and  I asked a few ?'s about the band/PJ tour etc.  I never asked anything personal or invasive, etc.  Just tour questions, show talk, told him I downloaded show bootlegs and solo Jim shows, etc.  He politely answered them and was real cool.  One thing he said he loved about them is that they don't pull any punches, they're just down home boys that love to make music and rock out.  And I completely agreed.  He seemed like a proud dad to be at the show and seemed to genuinely enjoy that people really dug their tunes.  He introduced me to Jim's uncle, I'm assuming his brother, sister was there as well.  Everyone was real nice, real cool.  It made me believe in this band even more that they are truly good people that just love to rock out.  If Jim or the family read this I will apologize if I was annoying or anything like that, I tried to make a conscience effort to not bother you to enjoy the show.  But it was extremely cool chattin with you all and meeting you.  It really made my night to meet some family members of someone I have mad respect for and love their music.  Thanks for a cool night.   I debated on whether to put this here, but if it happened to someone else I would love to hear it as well.  I just want to make sure that the conversation and its contents are respected because he opened up and talked about the band, touring etc. and he didn't have to and I greatly appreciate because it makes me feel much better I spend a lot of time and money following and enjoying.  Much respect to MMJ and the fam.

That's a cool story, man.... when you finally get to meet the band, you'll feel even better about being a fanatic for this group and it's music - they're all very disarming and nice, none of them have even the tiniest hint of a "rock star" ego...
