Yes, great pics leafy (this is a reference to my post in the wrong section!!), thank you.  I was up in the balcony, bout 12 rows back, when they started, those lights where blinding (the white ones), they seemed to be aimed right at the center of the balcony, but, either my eyes adjusted, or someone realised the cock up and it wasn't a problem from a few songs in.  As your pics show, the lighting was great, at one point i was reminded of close encounters of the third kind (make all the Metaphors you wish on that comment!).  I thought the setlist tonight was a great mix of old, new, and just down right funky/trippy...  I like the way they are tinkering, ever so slighly, with(some) of the older songs now, making them more appealing to the "Z" fans.  I am a 49yld tough guy ("hey!, see the game?, great game!!"), but i must admit, sometimes i well up with emotion at an MMJ gig...................

I'm always overcome with emotion at a great show and that's a given for me when it comes to My Morning Jacket.

blenderbaby

yes, i think it's the passion MMJ evokes in ther music that the emotion stems from, but still, with the distractions of todays music crowds in general (yapping, people moving about the whole bloody time, annoying cell phone users...) it's hard to be moved, yet MMJ do it to me all the time.  Jeez, i sound like an old hippy :o

That was so funny!  What an AWESOME show!  I danced the whole time - talk about schweaty balls!  (ha! just kiddin - ain't got none!)  But I was in heaven!  So totally COOL to meet Todd and Adam and Christopher and Jeff at the Uptown and then Rob, Aaron and Adam (my new road trip buddy to Indy today!) at the Green Mill!   I was good and toasty for the show.  We were about 4 rows back on the right in front of Jimbo.  I took my friend Craig who knew NADA about MMJ and he LOVED the show!  WTG!  Another MMJ convert!  Great to see Angela and Ravi after the show too!  You guys are the best!
MMJ fans are totally COOL people!!!!!   Love you all!  See you in Indy!   :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

Yeah, it was great to meet you, it was a great show. Lots of fun before the show at both the Uptown and The Green Mill..  was exhausted after the show...went striaght home.

QuoteI kept having thoughts of Jimmy Hendrix. Very soulful and moving!!

Really?  I've always gotten more of a Neil Young vibe from Jim James, including the first time I saw them.  It's probably the voice, although I like Jim's voice a lot more than Neil Young's.

QuoteI was in the very front in front of Jim.  Was that the same girl who was TALKING during the beginning of "Dondante," saying, "I love you Jim.  I just can't explain it"?

That sucks someone was ruining this song for you! Dondante is amazing..and hearing it live made me appreciate it even more. Was probably my friend spilling the beer though, she had a little too much to drink and for that I do apologize!! Thankfully I wasn't as bad as she was or I wouldn't remember anything!

I had not seen them since 2004 and back then I barely knew their music. So this concert was a huge deal for me. We came up from Nebraska for the show and it was way better than Thanksgiving with the family!

I was lucky enough to meet Jim though after the show! To bad he didn't have his boots on anymore. Those things were pretty sweet!
I met his one of his roadies, Brucie and started talking to him. Little bit later there is Jim across the street! I about died. Then he came over and I introduced myself.
Sure he doesn't remember, but I will never forget it!
I think after this concert I am worshiping this band more then ever!!!

Anyone going to the Colorado show? Thinking about driving to that also. They never come any closer to good ol' Nebraska so gotta go when I can.

Quotesuebeeboo,  I was second row in front of Jim.  You weren't the girl that kept rubbing me and my brothers head were you?  That was weird.

Too funny!  But NO it wasn't me!   :D
other times I can barely see

The beer spilling I can handle.  That wasn't so bad and my clothes can be washed.  The Dondante ruining, whoever that was, was simply unacceptable.  :(

Where'd you wait and end up meeting Jim?  Since I got a copy of the setlist, I thought about possibly hanging around to see if I could get the band to sign it.  I ended up meeting up with a friend instead.

Great show for sure.  Sorry I wasn't able to meet up with anybody for the pre-game.  Hate to be a stickler but I had some problems with the sound.  Couldn't really hear a bass note for the first half.  I blame The Shitty Slip for not having a bass player.  Too much kick drum.  And the lights were brutal in the balcony, hard to see anything on the stage.  And what about when Patrick had drum problems on Lay Low and stopped playing but there was still a drum track playing?

Loved the Lay Low anyway, and Dondante.

Definitely an awesome show and a very nice crowd and Jim James is clearly the greatest singer in the game (with songs to match).

I ended up meeting Jim outside after the concert by his tour bus. My friend and I were waiting for cabs and were not having any luck catching them. So then we were just standing there and I saw the bus on the side of the road. So that is when I saw that Brucie fellow and started chatting with him. Jim just happend to be coming out of the venue and was standing across the street from us. So when he walked over and was talking to Brucie, that is when I met him.
I wish I would have had more film in my camera to get my picture taken with him
I had a sticker I bought with me and I should have had him sign it, but I was to nervous to remember I had it!

Well it was still very cool to meet him. There are so many things I wish I would have said, but now it's too late. Plus, I don't even think I could describe to him how much their music means to me. I don't want to sound like a complete idiot going on and on. He probably hears it all the time.

Anyone going to either Colorado show in January?
