OK... some of you are going two nights, or all three, some of us are just going for the 29th. But if you will be at the 29th show, this is the forum topic for you.  every one set for the show? this is my first MMJ live experience, not really sure what to expect, hope it rocks like none other...

hey rocky, i was at the show last night.  the words "SWEET JESUS!" come to mind.   :o

did you get to see jim's performance art piece at the top of the set.  half way through the show i saw a cotton ball on the stage and it took me right back to the 'ave maria' w/feather boa...piece.  awesome.

worth noting:  soap bubble machines.  fantastic.

the setlist was a juggernaut with some gorgeous acoustic/steel numbers.  'bermuda highway' was gorgeous.  *swoon*

dude, you read my mind.  after the show i peeked over the shoulder of one set list receiver:  the band stuck to what they had planned, no changes.

this is not in order, but these were among the songs played:

into the woods (acoustic--gorgeous)
gideon
at dawn
worldless chorus
run thru
xmas curtain
way that he sings
mahgeeta (ended set one)
golden
bermuda highway
phone went west (personal highlight, i think  :)  )
off the record-->
i will sing you songs
one big holiday
what a wonderful man...

i will say this:  the set list was LONG.  mmj came on around 10p and i got to my car after the show at 1:30a.

also:  the opener was rogue wave:  i love this band.  have seen them a few times in los angeles:  this was the biggest venue i'd seen them in.  wish i'd seen their whole set (stupid airline delays...grr..).

I wanted to describe the Spectacular lighting!!
Wordless Chorus had this low white back light as the song started and Jim was essentially singing in the dark.
My new friend, Evonne and I were up close in the second row (with no barrier) on Friday night just floating with happiness.
As the chorus started and Jim raised the microphone to his lips to sing so sweetly, white lights streamed from behind the band over them into the crowd and the lights were hitting the mirror ball on ceiling and reflected tiny shimmering lights back over the band and all over the crowd.  I am not sure if this when the bubbles came floating out over our heads but it was amazing.  After the chorus the lights went black again and that sound from Bo's keyboards filled the venue.  Again at each chorus the lights were so white and bright and ethereal going to heaven, but there we were, in heaven on earth.  Thank you for a wonderful show each night.

FWIW,  Old September Blues was on the setlist, but was crossed off, and not played.  Also, the show WAS taped with Schoeps from the sweet spot.
