QuoteYea, Forcastle is cool! They can come to that as well as the spring fest we plan for them... hehehe

I don't think Forecastle is biig enough for them.  Don't they have that at the Mellwood Arts Center. I like the Cherokee Park idea if there was some open space in the park, it's all hills, the great lawn may be a better idea.  I'm thinking a surprise/secret show at Headliners, just like old times!

QuoteAlllllright Colleen, if you're drivin'...

Yeah! Road trip. BTW, you inspired me to feel the love for NYS. I spent a few days in the Adirondacks with a good friends and realized how much I miss the woods. Rejuvenating. Thanks.  :)

Yeah, if you had told me ten years ago (high school-aughh!) that I would feel the love that I do for this area, I would have scoffed...

too heavy for the hippies

Forcastle is moving to the Belvedere this year so that should be kinda cool.
Dog hill in Cherokee would be very cool, the park probably wouldn't go for that though...

I'd love to see them at headliners, you'd have to camp out for days to get in.

If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

megisnotreal

I will be there. A 90 minute drive is nothing. We drove to Champaign, Illnois, for god's sake.

I will be there. I will dress up like whatever. I will go wherever.

I need my 2007 fix.

as a relative noob here at the forum, I'm wondering if this idea is within the realm of real possibility
I dont know if I can deal with another dream of the Jacket playing Cherokee Park if it cant come true.....or at least close to the park
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy

I will ride with mjkoehler!  I will need an alibi for work from someone who works in an industrial plant somewhere in Louisville.

Make it so!  Can't help with the alibi unless it involves a large, international, petfood company that is based in StL that is owned by a Swiss Chocolate company that shall remain namless

I think you're sort of right but I've gotta dream. If they keep growing like the do, we'll be lucky if they come home at all. Louisville hardly ever gets bigger bands of that tour (not that I want to see half the bands that don't come here) Not that Phish plays anymore but I think they played their last Louisville show in 1995, yet they continued to tour for 9 more years, we just don't have the venue or the crowd draw.

Waterfront park.
Other local bands play till sundown.
Jacket starts at dusk.

Really all you need is money to make this happen.

...so does anyone know someone with lots of money? :-/

I guess it was about 5 years ago, the Jacket played Waterfront Park for some WFPK thing....for free
it was awesome
were any of you guys there?....there were probably  only about 200-300 people there on the lawn

yo, I was there.  When Johnny stood on top of the monitor and swung his guitar around it was seriously inches from knocking me out.  That was a great show.  I was also at that show at the Rud in 2000 you were talking about the other day.  I'm sure we've bumped into each other a few times over the years.

QuoteI'd come from New York and could fit 2 or 3 other people plus stuff in my little honda hatchback. I imagine I'd be alone since lately most of my friends seem to be content being lame and lacking any sense of adventure.

Can I ride with you?  :)
