Like most everyone else said, the Bonnaroo performance was out of this world.  There is nothing better in the world to do at 3am that rock out live w/ MMJ.  For me, nothing can beat "Golden" at the Ryman.  I just sat there, closed my eyes, and got goosebumps as Jim's voice filled that place like a choir of angels...plus the usher lady telling me to get back toward my seat when I was gettin my groove on in the aisle during "Run Thru!"  Banging my head to Okonokos at the Belcourt was fun too.  I think us middle Tennesseans have been pretty lucky!
You had me worried!!!

Quote11/09/2006 Charleston, SC.  I would say the show in it's entirety, but this one moment stands out.

There was this really cute girl beside me the whole night and during the intro to One Big Holiday I swear on my life I've never made eye-contact like that before.  It was like we were melting into one with the boys scoring our every breath.  I never saw her again.

I'll never get that moment out of my head.  I get a ridiculous smile just thinking about it.
I didn't know you were there! Where were you!?

I sure was!  I was about 10 - 15 rows back, directly in front of Carl.

I also got into the 'pre-show sound check party' which was amazing.  Just to experience the Jacket with only a handful of others in the room was certainly magical.

QuoteMan this is quite the tough decision!  Went to the Athens shows and have dozens of good memories, but this one stands out...

After the second night was over, nobody wanted to leave, so me and a few friends went back inside (probably around 2am) and danced to 4 or 5 prom-style songs.  We did it just like in the high school days too, formed a circle and took turns jumping in.  A couple other folks I've never met jumped in, and I just thought that was the coolest.

i was one of the peeps that jumped in. I could have danced all night! ... The 2nd night of SF i thought was just flat out to die for. They were possesed that night. I remember at one point covering my mouth and saying to myslef "oh my god" with the biggest smile on my face, realizing this was probably the greatest show i had ever seen. What a sick show. The other 2 nights werent too shabby either.

TEO

My first show at Lebowski Fest when JJ went down on his knees for like 10 minutes with his back to the audience and was seemingly in a trance during Cobra. Observed from the front row by a newbie it made quite an impression.   ;)

I had my Dad take me. I was back by the soundbox. I saw the look on the technician's faces during the Run Thru false start...priceless.

We most certainly are!

I saw them 6 times on their last tour.  5 of them at the fillmore.

NYE definately destroys them all.

It felt like witnessing a historical moment.

The whole encore I was 10 feet from the stage.

When they turned out the lights and played Wordless Chorus Jim came over to the middle where I was to sing.  I took my jacket with EL (electroluminescent) wire that I had made and held it up facing him. He saw it and smiled.

I will be there when you die!

Yeah, your EL Jacket was sweet. I complimented you when you walked in. Glad Jim thought so too

Best MMJ show I have been to was def at the TN theatre.  I will never forget them opening with "The Bear". Thats probably the first.

SAFE THE SUNSPHERE.    we need to make tshirts with that on them. or MMJ needs to have a song about the sunsphere in their next album.

Hey guys. I'm new here, but I have two for you.

Not there for: JJ telling the electric factory crowd about how coming to Philadelphia was like sitting in his favorite bean-bag chair at his grandma's house. (this recording is on archive.org and is very good)

There for: Langerado (Tie)-(1) during "they ran" Jim picked up a glow stick and pretended to smoke it when he sang "she had a cigarette...." (2) the glow-stick-sodomized blow-up doll that surfed the crowd.

Seeing my first MMJ show at the House of Blues in Anaheim.  That was just an amazing, AMAZING experience for me.  I'll never forget it!  ;D  There wasn't a dull moment through the whole ting.  I can't wait to see them again!

The best moment was cleveland 12/04/06 seeing them for the first time. It Beats 4 You  with the strobe light was such an amazing opener. Jim going all out on vocals on They Ran. Getting to see his movements on stage, he's such a character up there. Whether hes jumping around or dancing with a stuffed animal, i love that.
That's motherfuckin' John Oates!

This is my first post on here and I had to tell everyone about it.  I honestly believe this music has changed my life.  I hope everyone enjoys...

My singular favorite moment in my indoctrination into My Morning Jacket was the beginning of the Louisville Gardens show.  I feel like a lucky person because I have been able to see them in Nashville (ryman), louisville (the gardens), the foellinger in illinois, and then the prom in athens (with my viking helmet).  But the Louisville show was amazing for the fact that my roommate and i decided to skip school on a whim to make the show because its the hometown.  We got there and waited from 4 pm till the doors opened at 7 or so and got front row.  Then after a great performance by Wax Fang, the curtain came up and the lights and then the unmistakable opening riff to One Big Holiday.  At the absolute perfect timing, the curtain dropped and I still feel chill bumps from that night.  That night I met God and his name was Jim James.

Here's the link to a short video of your glow-stick friend. I wish I had gotten Jim's reaction to it. The expression on his face was great.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some don't have film.

Bonnaroo 2006 was pretty magical...and they only play it once a year (and not even this year).  Bet they didn't play 3.5 hrs each night at the Filmore!
If you're lucky, MMJ will fill the void you didn't even know you ever had. If you're luckier, you'll get to see them live.

DaFunkyPrecedent

ill take 8 hours of MMJ over 3 days anytime.

God damn those shaky knees.
