unfortunetly, the phrase "cheap hotel" and "near Radio City" dont really mesh. that said, radio city is in a convenient location as far as getting to from other places in NYC.

For best bet, I would try searching hostels in NYC.  here is a link to one that is very close to the show: http://www.bigapplehostel.com/

the above post was spot on. you aren't going to get a cheap hotel in new york city, especially near radio city music hall. you're best bet would be to get a hotel outside of the city, maybe in jersey or something and take the subway into manhatten. that is if you think you are getting a cheap hotel.

try the YMCA--i've heard it's not that bad---very 'hostel' like

no affordable hotels in midtown, try staying in newark and taking the train or bus in--it's easy and close
but come on...there's nothing sexy about poop. Nothing.  -bbill

the Hotel Edison in Times Square normally caters to groups looking for cheaper rates. Their rooms average around $200-$250, which is probably the cheapest you will be able to find for a decent, manhatten hotel. Only 5 years ago, the Hotel Edison was only $100 a night.

You might also try Millenium Broadway, also in Times Square. They sometimes have rooms under $300. Also, it's best to call these hotels and talk to a real person. You will always get the best rates that way. The internet normally lies to you.  :)

Also, i've known people who go on craigslist and look in the vacation rentals. There are usually some great apartments you can rent for only $100. I know people who've done this successfully, and I'd say it's worth a shot.
